Heavy cream is just what it says. It will say heavy cream on the carton. Half-and-half is half milk and half cream. The heavy cream will make the dessert richer tasting.
Sounds great! I really enjoy the Neelys’ show. There’s one thing I’m not sure about though, because I’m not much of a Baker. I’m more of a Cook. Anyway, when a recipe calls for “Heavy Cream”, what exactly do they mean? Is it Half and Half like you use in coffee, or what?
Thanks……
I seen this the other day on their show and I have a 2 yr old who loves fruit, so I had to make it. I of course substituted the liqueur with regular pulp free orange juice and I used a tiny bit more then the recipe calls for as well as a little more honey but I stuck with the 1/4 cup of sugar and it came out amazing.
The whip cream was amazing as well, It was a HUGE hit.
Only thing I had trouble with was finding the sanding sugar, so I just used a lil regular sugar before baking then when it came out after I put a tiny sprinkle again of sugar and that worked out great.
I love the idea of using the can of biscuits, it was a nice short cut for me with 3 kids and yes the orange flecks are the butter if you get the ones that are butter biscuits.
Thanks so much we will definitely have this again!

This was the best recipe! The refrigerator biscuits have butter in them not orange pieces. I’m not sure where others got their fruit but it cost me about $12 to $14 to make the whole thing. Yummy!
Loved it!!
It sounds wonderful, how ever the cost to make this Is very expensive. About $ 20 in fruit.
This recipe looks so good! What brand of refrigerator biscuits did they use, I have never seen biscuits with orange flecks in them.
Great! But what was the brand of bisquits used on the show? Also, what is ‘sanding sugar’ My version just didn’t look as good as yours.
My family loved this, and I’ll make it again. Super quick, and very tasty!
This was a perfect recipe for my kids, ages 7 & 8, to work on! We substituted the orange liqueur for orange juice and it worked out fine. Very yummy and easy!
