Ingredients

  1. 1 large ring bologna
  2. Butter, for frying
  3. Extra-virgin olive oil, for frying

Yummy! We get our rings from Kitt’s Meats in Dedham, IA. I love the Fresh Ring sandwiches, too 🙂

Brought back childhood memories of skiing and frying bologna on the pot bellied stove in the warming hut. Luckily I have a great German Deli 5 min from my house in Orange, CA – Matterns so I got their ring bologna and we had it for Monday Night Football – delicious. Then left overs reheated in the oven – maybe even better!

Quick. Delicious. Meaty. I would not have thought about serving them until I saw them on the show. These would be awesome with a horseradish dip or creamy mustard dip. A definite keeper, especially for football games, holidays, or when the guys come over and want something to snack on. I like the fact that they can be served hot or room temperature, making them a great tailgating food. I have to admit, I had not had bologna in a long time. Thanks for the unexpected treat.

Delicious, especially when fried and enjoyed in an ice shack on your favorite frozen lake. I like mine with bread and a little ketchup for added flavor.

Fried bologna is awesome. The olive oil gives it kind of a crisp edge. We add hot sauce over it qand pass the napkins. Awesome recipe.

Love your show! Wish we could buy ring bologna in San Antonio, TX. :(. This recipe reminds me of my younger days ring bologna and camping.
