Low-Sugar BBQ Marinated Steak Tips

If you are on a tight diet, it might be really difficult to locate suitable sugar-free recipes. The marinade for steak tips is a household favorite.

Ingredients

  1. ½ cup Italian-style salad dressing
  2. ½ cup sugar-free barbeque sauce
  3. ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
  4. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  5. 1 teaspoon black pepper
  6. 2 ½ pounds Beef, top sirloin, separable lean only, trimmed to 1/4″ fat, all grades, raw

Instructions

  1. Mix salad dressing, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and pepper together in a medium ceramic or glass bowl or gallon-sized zip-top bag. Add steak tips and turn or shake to coat; cover or seal the bag. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  2. Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat and lightly oil the grate.
  3. Cook steak tips on the preheated grill until firm but slightly pink in the center, about 5 minutes per side.
  4. I used Newman’s Own(R) Oil and Vinegar Salad Dressing or any sugar-free Italian dressing. Use any sugar-free BBQ sauce.

I was looking forward to trying something new, but I have to say I much prefer my steak to taste like beef, and not covered up with overpowering flavors. I let the steak tips marinate for 4 hours and the marinade was all I could taste. Also, 5 minutes per side is not going to give you any trace of pink, it’ll be well done and dry. I did 5 minutes TOTAL and it was still overcooked. If you haven’t grilled steak tips before, you’re going to need to either put them on skewers, or use a grill pan. I used G Hughes sugar-free BBQ sauce.
