Grilled Cauliflower

  4.6 – 95 reviews

When I was in China, I came across a delicacy and tried to recreate it, which is this fried spinach. It’s one of the recipes I’ve created that my family enjoys the most. It is straightforward, easy to make, and quick to prepare.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 25 mins
Total Time: 35 mins
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  1. 1 head cauliflower, cut into thick slices
  2. 1 tablespoon olive oil
  3. 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  4. 2 teaspoons seasoned salt (such as Lawry’s)

Instructions

  1. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
  2. Sprinkle cauliflower slices on both sides with olive oil, brown sugar, and seasoned salt.
  3. Cook cauliflower on the preheated grill until char marks appear, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Transfer to a grill-safe pan with a lid, cover, and continue cooking on the grill until tender, about 20 minutes.

I am not a fan of Old Bay and did not use any sugar, user Garlic, herbs de Provence, salt, and pepper. It the flavor was amazing! Used a grill matt and it came out perfect! This recipe basically helped me to figure out how to grill it!

I bought pre-cut florets and grilled in a grill pan, but followed the recipe ingredients exactly. Delicious. Definitely going into our summer grill rotation.

This is one of my all-time favorite summer side dishes! The beauty is how simple it is! People are always shocked when I tell them that great flavor is 3 ingredients! But, I do not cook direct grill grates. Instead; I put in a foil lined grill basket and grill, stirring halfway through. Many thanks for this recipe!!

I’ve finally converted my non-cauliflower-loving husband! It’s the brown sugar, of course. Slicing it into steaks is a bit tricky, but it’s worth it.

Tasted wonderful. Used slightly less sugar than called for.

This is my new favorite recipe for cauliflower. It was the first thing gone on the plate. The texture was perfect as well.

Made the recipe pretty much as specified but I did double to triple the portions for the good sized cauliflower I used. For the most part, the cauliflower ‘held up’ to cutting and grilling. We thought it very good and leftovers were great ‘cold’ the next day. Grilling vegetables is a great cooking idea. If you are doing it another way as several are based on reviews, I think you are missing the added nuances to the taste that comes with the grilling process.

The cauliflower falls apart even if you cut thick slices and then on the grill more falls apart – but the taste was there – I will figure away

I made this in my oven on low broil for about 25 minutes and it is sooo delicious I wished I would have bought 2 heads of cauliflower! It’s easy to make and you won’t be disappointed but glad you made this to enjoy

The topping was amazing. We had BBQ chicken breasts and this was a wonderful side with it. My hubs grilled the marks in and then wrapped in foil and filled for an addicting 15 mins. That is much too long. The flavor was great the the cauliflower was a bit mushy. I’d suggest cooking it covered for about 6 minutes if you like it a bit crisper.

I made this as the recipe calls for like we ALL should do & it is very good. The 2nd time i made it i added just a touch of Onion Powder & Crushed Red Pepper Flakes for some added zip. It was great!

I absolutely LOVE this recipe. I just fry the slices (and pieces) in a frying pan in olive oil. Once they are close to tender enough, I sprinkle brown sugar and Parmesan cheese on top, let it all melt, and then serve it….it is now my go to way to eat cauliflower….

Very very good and easy

Flavor was awesome. Hubby let it cook a bit too long and it looked burnt but carmelized. Will try again.

Delicious! I did it without the brown sugar. Wonderful!

So easy & even one of my kids that doesn’t usually eat cauliflower had seconds!

Easy to make and very tasty.

I don’t like season salt, so I used salt, pepper, garlic, onion powders and parsley. I forgot about using the sugar and it was still delicious.

Very easy to make! Only change I’d make next time is to reduce cooking by 5 minutes.
