Ingredients

  1. 2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons celery seeds
  2. 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
  3. 4 tablespoons chili powder
  4. 3 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon paprika
  5. 3 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  6. 2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  7. 2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  8. 1 teaspoon cayenne
  9. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  10. 1 teaspoon onion powder
  11. Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Grind the celery seeds and oregano into a powder with a spice grinder or mortar and pestle. Place in a plastic pint container. Add the chili powder, paprika, brown sugar, dry mustard, cumin, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, 7 tablespoons salt and 4 tablespoons pepper. Cover the container and shake vigorously until the mixture is blended, 30 seconds.
