Can this be made dairy free?

Good but waaayyy too sweet…did some of the suggested reductions of sugar which probably helped some but even the kids took a pass after the first serving.

A family favorite, especially for Christmas! I agree with some of the other comments about the sweetness, so I cut back to 3 packets of cocoa and don’t use the full 12 oz. of chocolate chips. A delicious and comforting dessert!

After reading the negative reviews I decided to change the recipe a little bit . I used sourdough bread. 2 eggs and 3 egg yolks and 3/4c marshmallows and the .7 ounce of hot chocolate packets. 3c half and 2 cups of milk.

This was super easy to assemble. I used whole eggs in this recipe and instead of packets I used hot chocolate powder mix. It came out great and I will definitely make it more.

Not a good bread pudding because it was sticky. The marshmallows didn’t help. Ultra sweet and a gooey mess. The chocolate mix didn’t make it chocolate just too sweet. Will not make again.

Very good but very sweet.  You could maybe cut back on the number of hot chocolate packets that is calls for.  I didn’t have any issue with the consistency; just like bread pudding should be. I was worried when I saw all of the liquid but no problem, at all. I will make it again.

Very good.  Agree with cutting either chocolate chips or cocoa mix in half.
