Everyone who tries this hot crab dip dish raves about it. Although canned crabmeat works just fine, fresh crabmeat is preferable. Everyone at the party I brought it to asked for the recipe. With blue corn chips, serve it. They’ll be blown away by this.

This was a great starter recipe with plenty of room to adapt to your liking! I couldn’t find the crab I wanted at an affordable price so I opted for canned. It turned out delicious and enjoyed by all but fresh or the lump in the refrigerated section of Costco would have been even better but I was “in a pinch”. After reading suggestions, this is what I did: I used 1 1/2 6 oz cans of Bumble Bee white crab meat, all of the garlic and cream cheese and 1/2 of the mayo and sour cream. I had some shredded Monterrey Jack and Mozzarella and threw them in my food processor along with a hefty amount of parsley until it resembled grated (about 3/4 cup total). I also added 1 very small chopped onion, 1/4 tsp salt, freshly ground pepper, and 3/4 tsp old bay seasoning. Our friends live a bit more than an hour away so I packed it in ice and when we got there, heated it oven exactly 45 minutes as stated. The 5 of us ate most of it with blue corn chips which held up well. It was a delightful appetizer to start our day at the beach! Thank you!
I use this to stuff jalapenos. My guests love it.
twas lousy needed twice as much crab meat or something
super easy to make and it’s delicious. I made 1/2 the portion (20 servings) and use 8oz of fresh crab meat. I also added a pinch of salt and cayenne pepper.
I made this for my husband last night. I did add mozzarella and sprinkled some garlic and herb seasoning on it. My husband loved it and is still talking about it!! I will definitely be making this again!!
This was the easiest and tastiest dip recipe ever. At first, i was a bit apprehensive about adding so very much parmesan cheese to it but it made the dip amazing. What a great zing! Next time i may double the crab meat, or add a 1/2 teaspoon of old bay seasoning. Great with celery sticks for my keto diet. The only problem is my kids love it too and I’m running out of hiding spots in the fridge…..thanks for such a great recipe!
Made this for a super bowl party. Followed instructions perfectly. Lacked in flavor. All the other dips were disappearing, not this one. Expensive disappointment
I used fresh crab and it was really good. Made it for Super Bowl party
This was delicious but very rich, next time I will add sautéed mushrooms, onions, spinach and cooked chicken- making it more of a meal
I have made this dip for years and I use canned..I also put a touch of hot sauce in it and paprika on top before I bake it..
I have made this recipe twice and it is always a hit! I use real lump crab from my local grocery rather than imitation krab. I have received nothing but compliments about the great balance of the garlic and parmesan. I am a little dash of Old Bay seasoning to give it a little bit of a kick. This recipe is one I always come back to.
Added black pepper, red pepper flakes, asiago, green onion. Was lovely!
We loved the taste and texture. It was very yummy!
Terrific recipe. Easy to make and great taste. Everyone loved it.
I make this over and over again. Everyone loves it. Keep half in the frig and cook up a week later, even great.
I added two cans of crab meat to ensure that there was an even balance of meat and cheese. Glad I did because it was delicious!
Huge hit!!!! I’m a Marylander, so I added Old Bay & worcheshire sauce, and a little black pepper and it really set off the flavor. I also used the grated parmesan with Asiago. I topped it with an extra sprinkle of cheese and some bread crumbs. The bowl looked like it had been licked clean!!
This was loved by crab lovers
Too fishy and mayonnaise-flavored.
Five stars! Easy and delicious… just like I like it 🙂
I love this recipe. It is so simple, yet so delicious. This dip was a hit with my family, including my 2-year-old son. The next time I attend a potluck, I know what I’ll be bringing!
