After attempting a ton of different difficult recipes and finding none that I liked, I came up with this one for tuna salad with eggs. Ingredients for making this are simple. Serve with tortillas, toast, or lettuce.
Prep Time: | 15 mins |
Total Time: | 15 mins |
Servings: | 20 |
Yield: | 1 9×13-inch pan |
Ingredients
- 3 (16 ounce) cans vegetarian refried beans
- 1 (16 ounce) container sour cream
- 1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
- ½ cup salsa
- ½ head iceberg lettuce – rinsed, dried, and chopped
- 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- ¾ cup chopped black olives
- 1 (8 ounce) package shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Spread refried beans over the bottom of a 9×13-inch glass baking dish.
- Mix sour cream and taco seasoning together until combined; spread mixture over beans. Top with a layer of salsa, followed by lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and olives. Sprinkle Cheddar over top.

It was Super good! took a bit longer than expected but was worth the wait.
thank you so much
We made this for my brother’s graduation party last summer, and it was a delicious appetizer! We left out the olives, but included all of the other ingredients. I would highly recommend this for your next party or get-together!
Lots of compliments on this recipe! My only variation was adding some red pepper, and used two cans of refried beans.
I put a little more salsa . Yes I will make it again.
Big hit at a party. And easy to assemble.
Great recipe. A hit with my family. I will make it again.
I have made this several times for bbq’s. I have never brought any home .Sometimes I don’t get any myself beacouse it’s gone by the time I get to it. People ask me for this recipe afterwards all the time. . This is a fabulous dip. Make it just like it says and you can’t go wrong.
Turned out great! Taco Dip is actually one of the first recipes I learned from my roommate. I make it a little differently but save this as a grocery list reference tool. I agree with some other reviews that 2 cans is a good amount. I pair this with tostidos scoops and they can only tolerate so much dip. I mix the taco seasoning with the vegetarian beans and keep the sour cream plain. I like to keep the spice level mild so I don’t use the whole package, just measure to taste. You can also buy seasoned (original flavor) refried beans and skip the extra seasoning. Read the labels at the store
It’s good. People really like it.
I made this for a carry in at work. It was a hit. 2 minor changes after Reading reviews I used only 2 cans of refried beans . I did drain the juice off the salsa to keep it from getting soupy. Otherwise I stuck with the original recipe. It goes great with taco seasoned hamburger and another girl brought taco seasoned crockpot chicken . Yum! Definitely going to be making it again and again.
Seemed to be a LOT of refried beans lol… But i also tried to add more salsa Bc it barelys covered a thin layer… Word of Advice… DONT haha… It made it quite mushy… But a little less refried beans would be beneficial… All in all, Great Start!
Easy and satisfying.
This was super simple, fast and a hit with everyone. I added a guacamole layer on the beans and didn’t bother adding fresh tomatoes since i figured there was enough in the salsa. I had green onions, so I used that instead of red. I probably used a bit less taco seasoning than suggested. I made a second dip without salsa for someone who couldn’t eat tomatoes, but the flavour of the dip got kind of bland omitting it, so I would take that into consideration if you don’t like tomatoes.
I made this for s baby shower and it was a huge hit!! Everyone loved it!!!
I’ve made this recipe quite a few times and I keep losing the recipe! It’s delicious – very fresh tasting and lighter than some of the other 7 layer type dips. We love this one and I’m so glad to have finally found and saved this recipe.
Reduced beans to 1 and 1/2 cans. Used green onion instead of regular onion. Otherwise followed recipe. Turned out amazing!
Made it as shown, loved it. Was easy and delicious. Will make it for my Grandsons backyard birthday party
Easy recipe to make. Everyone loves it.
This was a big hit. people scraped the dish clean, lol.
I didn’t add olives and added jalapeno
