This creamy taco soup is not only quick and tasty, but also incredibly adaptable. You can adjust the level of heat to your preference. It tastes best when topped with some shredded cheese, sour cream, and corn tortilla chips. It has low carbs as well.

I had not made this in years but it was requested by a longtime friend for his 50th wedding anniversary party. The only stipulation was please serve the sour cream on the side. I mixed some of the taco seasoning into the beans and the rest into the sour cream which I put in a dip bowl surrounded by chips. The only other change was to sprinkle half of a large jalapeño on top. The food truck was late – I should have made 2 recipes and it was gone in a matter of minutes! Thank you!
This recipe is really good and has bright flavors. So good!
I make this often and always switch it up. My family loves it.
Always a hit. I like this version because the taco seasoning is mixed into the sour cream.
I made this for an after work get together. There wasn’t any left. Super easy to make. Definitely a keeper.
Followed exactly and this is the best! We all loved it.
Beautiful
My family and I loved it! We used greek yogurt, instead of sour cream, and green olives since those are what we had on hand and it was still SUPER TASTY! Thank you for the recipe!
It was great even though I didn’t have the ripest avocados. Next time I’ll make sure to shop better. I also added diced red onions and jalapenos to the veggies on top. Very good!
Everyone loved it! My favorite 7 layer dip that I have made. I forgot to buy taco seasoning, so I had to make my own. This was delicious!
We made it without the olives but an all around family favorite
It was delicious. I used a premade guacamole.
Fantastic. Very flavorful. everyone loved it!
I have to give 4 stars because it’s your regular dip. Nothing different in this tradition dish. It is good so I can’t be mad.
Was a big hit at a bbq last weekend. But I had to laugh at the number of servings the author says the recipe created. There were only 15 people at the BBQ, and it was gone in 30 minutes! I guess if you had a lot of other appetizers, it could go further, but for my crowd, I would say it serves a max of 20 people.
Made as per recipe and it turned out great. I cooked ground beef and used the dip for tacos, wonderful.
I am not a big fan of canned refried beans. So I go to a local taco shop and purchase their refried beans. I also add more cheese and avocado. My coworkers love, love, LOVE this recipe and I will be preparing it again for them this week for a potluck!
I made it just like the recipe & it was great.
I made the dip but i used frozed black beans and a pound of seasoned ground beef that I added onion and taco seasonings to. I also hate cilantro because to me, it tastes like soap or pine sol so i added flat leaf parsley instead for color. Another add in was black olives then I added lime zest and cumin to the sour cream.
The recipe was great and easy to follow. A hit at the party I took it to. Will definitely be keeping this recipe.
Followed the recipe and then added shredded lettuce to the top with some more salsa. Excellent dip!
