Ingredients
- 1 pound white American cheese, cubed
- ¾ cup half-and-half
- ¼ cup diced pickled jalapeno peppers
- 1 teaspoon pickled jalapeno pepper juice
- ⅛ teaspoon ground cumin
- ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Combine American cheese and half-and-half in a medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high power in 1 1/2 minute intervals, stirring in between each interval, until melted and creamy, 5 to 7 minutes.
- Stir in jalapenos, jalapeno juice, cumin, and cayenne. Microwave for 30 seconds. Stir and serve immediately.
- Ask someone in the deli section of your supermarket to slice one big chunk of white American cheese for this recipe.
- Make sure you stir well between microwave intervals so as not to overheat the half-and-half.

I scaled this down by 8, and made a small cup to try. The whole family loved it, it was gone in seconds. Tastes very close to our favorite Mexican Restaurant locally that just closed ☹ we found our queso dip fix!
This was so so good! It stayed nice and soft for a long period of time, so we didn’t have to keep reheating like other pre-made queso. I cut the recipe in half the first time to try it out. I add a bit more jalapeños and cumin to suit our taste. Definitely will keep making!
This has just the right amount of heat, not hot enough for my hubby, yet perfect for me. It is so easy to make, really works well in a small crockpot
