Nori Chips

a quick recipe I came up with for vegetarian burritos. This is fairly straightforward and may be decorated however you wish. Sour cream, shredded Cheddar cheese, chopped tomatoes, and thinly sliced green onions are the toppings I like to serve these.

Prep Time: 5 mins
Cook Time: 5 mins
Total Time: 10 mins
Servings: 2
Yield: 14 strips

Ingredients

  1. 1 sheet nori (dried seaweed), cut into thin strips
  2. 1 teaspoon olive oil, or as needed
  3. salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Lightly oil a baking sheet.
  2. Arrange nori smooth-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly brush olive oil over nori; season with salt.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until nori is dry and crispy, 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. You can also add other spices to the nori, but I would recommend adding most spices after you take them out of the oven. Otherwise, the spices themselves may burn.
  5. There should be folded lines on the nori for you to follow along to cut.

Tried making in the airfryer – not recommended until you can weigh thrm down. Mine went straight up to the heating element and got stuck to it! If you can resolve the floating, the af would work great and only take a minute or so per sheet.

It was fine as written

I was looking for an easy way to use nori and this is it. Quick, easy, fast, and nori is full of health benefits. I used a pastry brush to add the oil, and cooked them about 7 minutes because I wanted them a bit crunchier. Thanks for the recipe!

I tried this recipe almost exactly. I had to use canola oil instead of olive oil, but it was perfect! Just the taste my hubby and I were craving (and I’m 8 months pregnant!) I am definitely keeping this recipe for a later date, maybe even tonight!
