  11. A few kernels will remain unpopped. Longer cooking may pop the rest, but will burn some of the already-popped kernels, so it is not recommended.

Try putting chocolate chip (white and chocolate) over popped corn and stick in hot over for 5 minutes, let it semi melt, that is the best snack you will ever have!

I added some brown sugar to this recipe and it was a hit. Easiest popcorn recipe I’ve seen. Thanks for sharing it

Yes WOW. This popcorn is outstanding. What a money saver.

Loved how easy and healthy this was. I was so surprised by how quickly the kernels began to pop. My first batch burned from cooking it too long. I actually like my popcorn a little burnt, but this batch was beyond edible. The 2 nd batch was perfection. It’s not as fluffy as movie theater and store bought microwaveable popcorn. But much better than hot air popcorn. Healthier than stove top. This method is a close 2nd. I drizzld a littlebutterand salt. I’ll get more creative next go round..

I’ve made it long before I saw this recipe on here, but I use two lunch size paper bags, No Oil, I put the popcorn in one bag then put the other bag over the top and pull down to make one bag that way it has more room when popped. I pop mine for about 3 1/2 minutes, then use Spray Butter and Salt after transferring the popcorn to a bowl.. Great Snack.

Super easy and you save so much money! I just started a renal diet and I’m cutting back on salt. I put 1/4 cup in a brown paper bag, my microwave pops this in 1 minute 40 seconds and I season it with a tablespoon of parmesan cheese. I don’t use any oil in cooking this and its comes out light and fluffy every time. I got a bag of popcorn kernels for $2.50 at Target and 100 paper lunch bags for $3.10. I’ve been making this for a week solid and haven’t put a dent in my popcorn kernels. Per bag of popcorn with cheese its 139 calories and that is a lot of volume without the guilt. Thanks for the recipe!

I tried it twice. It only popped a fraction of the popcorn.

I added some butter popcorn seasoning. about 1/4 of it did not pop so next time I will cook longer. A great snack super cheap all this time I’ve been buy microwave popcorn- I could have been doing it myself.

I was in a pinch and this recipe worked great. The only thing I changed was the pop time to 2 min.

Very good pupcorn. The dog loved it without salt!

I have been making this brown bag popcorn for a couple of years. You do not need the oil! Once popped you can add butter or whatever you’d like. (That way you know what goes into it.) Introduced it to my granddaughter, who doesn’t like popcorn. And she said “it’s the best popcorn I’ve ever tasted!”

I followed to the letter. Came out great. Thank you.

It was easy! As a side note, you should tape the bottom of the bag, my bag opened up & popcorn went everywhere (in the microwave).

It works

Instead of salt I use powdered cheese (Augason Farms) and I fold the bag once about an inch from the top and use a plastic clip from a bread bag to hold it shut. 1/3 cup corn with or without oil. Cook till popping slows as per directions about 2:40.

Brown lunch bags are not microwave safe. Please google it. However if there was another reason why it was used here/ I was mistaken I would LOVE to know because I followed this recipe before reading about the safety of using it .

I have been making lunch bag popcorn for years. Use 1/3 cup kernels, never any oil, fold over 2-3 times and microwave only 1 minute & 20-30 minutes Max in a 1100W microwave. Empty bag of popcorn to a bowl, then immediately put the bag with any leftover unpopped kernels back in for another 20-30 seconds (listen to the popping sound). Either spray ICBINB or drizzle melted butter over the popcorn, and only use popcorn salt to taste. I usually double bag (one inside the other) and reuse the same bags at least 5-8 times. Best popcorn ever, and can make as healthy or not as you like.

I never knew that you could do this make kernel popcorn in the microwave!! LOL I add dry ranch seasoning packet to it give it a little savory taste. I am looking to try maybe a caramel corn or something next.

Omg this was so easy and delicious. Worked like a charm. Will double the bag next time because of the oil.
