Ingredients

  1. 2 tablespoons olive oil
  2. ½ cup diced sweet onion
  3. ½ cup grated carrot
  4. 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  5. ½ pound ground chicken
  6. ½ cup bulk pork sausage
  7. 4 ½ cups sliced cabbage
  8. ½ cup water
  9. 2 tablespoons tamari
  10. 1 tablespoon honey
  11. ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  12. ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  13. ¼ teaspoon salt
  14. 1 teaspoon sesame oil (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Turn on a multi-functional pressure cooker (such as Instant Pot) and select Saute function. Add olive oil, followed by onion, carrot, and garlic; cook until onion is translucent, 5 to 7 minutes. Add ground chicken and ground sausage and cook until browned, 5 to 10 minutes.
  2. Stir in cabbage, water, tamari, honey, ginger, pepper, and salt. Close and lock the lid. Select high pressure according to manufacturer’s instructions; set timer for 10 minutes. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for pressure to build.
  3. Release pressure using the natural-release method according to manufacturer’s instructions, 10 to 15 minutes. Stir and add sesame oil.
  4. You can use brown sugar instead of honey if you like.

I don’t have an instant pot but this can essentially be done in a skillet. Tasty!
