Hawaiian Ham and Pineapple Salsa

With our Hawaiian Ham and Pineapple Salsa, be ready for the celebration. To pair with salty chunks of grilled canned ham seasoned with Grill Mates® Baja Citrus Marinade, make a sweet salsa with pineapple, jalapenos, and mango nectar as the basis. Ingredients

  1. 1 (1 ounce) package McCormick® Grill Mates® Baja Citrus Marinade
  2. ½ cup mango nectar or orange juice
  3. 2 tablespoons honey
  4. 2 tablespoons lime juice
  5. 1 (12 ounce) can canned ham, such as Spam® Classic, cut into small cubes
  6. 4 cups finely chopped fresh pineapple
  7. ½ cup finely chopped red onion
  8. 1 jalapeño pepper, finely chopped
  9. ½ cup chopped macadamia nuts

Instructions

  1. Mix Marinade Mix, mango nectar, honey and lime juice in large bowl. Remove 1/4 cup of the marinade mixture; set aside.
  2. Cook cubed canned ham and 1/4 cup of the reserved marinade mixture in large skillet on medium heat until lightly browned. Remove from heat.
  3. Stir pineapple, onion and jalapeno into remaining marinade mixture in large bowl until well blended. Top with ham mixture. Sprinkle with nuts. Serve dip with tortilla chips.

I would never thought of using McCormick® Grill Mates® Baja Citrus Marinade in a salsa. Our only changes were replacing the ham with diced jicama. I loved using a seasoning packet it made it so much easier and faster to make. I will definitely be making this again. It was very yummy.
