Ingredients

  1. 32 ounces processed cheese food (such as Velveeta®), cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  2. 1 cup Irish stout beer (such as Guinness®)
  3. ½ cup salsa
  4. 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  5. 1 teaspoon chili powder
  6. ½ teaspoon onion powder
  7. ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat cheese in slow cooker on High until melted, about 20 minutes.
  2. Stir beer, salsa, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper into cheese until smooth and heated through, stirring frequently, about 10 minutes.

Agreed with what some other people have said about mixing in some other cheeses. Other than that this is perfect. I do not often like the taste of beer in food, this really is a perfect dip. Had it with soft pretzels.

We made this last night for the big game. Similar to what others reported, the cheese took about an hour to melt. We followed the recipe, except that we added some Gouda based on other reviews. We did not care for this it at all. Had a strange, almost metallic taste, maybe from the chili powder? It was not good.

Excellent! Didn’t have worcershire so subbed with soy sauce, lemon juice, sugar and a dash of hot sauce. Awesome for dipping homemade pretzels!

I made this dip for the Super Bowl and it was a huge hit! Everyone loved it and ate it all! I served it with a loaf of fresh wheat Italian bread. Yum! Will definitely put this with my go too dips.

This was a big hit at a party I made it for. I did scale back the Worcestershire sauce to only one table spoon and I used a dark German malt beer instead of Guinness. The suggestion of adding the smoked Gouda was spot on. I will definitely make this again.
