Easy, Breezy, Cheesy Stuffed Bread (Domino’s Copycat Recipe)

  4.5 – 11 reviews

This cheese stuffed bread is crispy on top and chewy and very cheesy within, much like Domino’s, but beware – it’s quite dangerous since it’s difficult to resist! I discovered this bread at Domino’s and have been looking for a recipe that is similar ever since. I came up with this after some trial and error, and it’s pretty darn close! In addition, if I have a late-night hunger and my kid is sound sleeping, it won’t cost me $12 for food, delivery, and tip. With marinara sauce, if desired.

Prep Time: 10 mins

Total Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  1. 1 (11 ounce) package refrigerated French bread dough (such as Pillsbury)
  2. 4 tablespoons melted butter, divided
  3. 1 tablespoon cornmeal
  4. 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  5. 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend
  6. 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  7. 1 tablespoon freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  8. 1 tablespoon shredded Cheddar cheese
  9. 1 pinch dried parsley
  10. 1 pinch garlic powder
  11. 1 pinch onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a large baking sheet.
  2. Roll dough on a flat work surface into a large rectangle. Brush with 3 tablespoons melted butter and sprinkle with cornmeal. Flip dough over and scatter mozzarella cheese, Mexican cheese blend, and 1 cup Cheddar cheese on top. Fold dough in half and press edges together with your fingers to seal.
  3. Brush remaining 1 tablespoon butter over dough and lightly sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and remaining 1 tablespoon Cheddar cheese, then sprinkle with parsley, garlic powder, and onion powder. Make shallow cuts every inch across the top with a knife so you can easily pull the bread apart after baking.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven until bread is golden brown and cheese is bubbly, about 25 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes before pulling strips apart.
  5. The beauty of this recipe is that it can be tinkered with to suit your individual tastes. Add crumbled bacon and/or jalapeños (or your other favorite ingredients) to the cheese for an extra kick.
  6. You can use your own bread dough recipe if you prefer. I just recommended using Pillsbury dough because it’s fast and has worked out well for me. Follow directions on the package if you use a different brand.

I love the idea of this bread. The taste is good but just too salty for me. Maybe all the cheese? I may cut back on some of the cheese the nest time and add jalapeños to it. I will make it again. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

It was delicious. I did use thawed from frozen pizza dough because I don’t like the one in the can but that was my only substitution. Also baked on a pizza stone which was a mistake because the oils from the cheese dripped down into the oven. Didn’t think that one through. Next time will definitely use a pan, and there will definitely be a next time.

First off Loved it! But having worked in the Pizza industry there is no way they put that much cheese in it lol. But I am Not the cheese Police. Made twice now, love it. However I would recommend spreading out some flour before laying down your dough, FYI I used a Wal Mart pizza a dough in a tube, loved it both times, just next time I will be spreading some flour.

Bread was very hard to roll out and made the dish have a preservative flavor. May try again with homemade or different brand of bread dough. Otherwise it came out good.

It was difficult to make. The dough didn’t roll out very easy. When I was ready to fold over dough after adding cheese it got stauck to my counter and I had to use a spatula to scrap it off and slopily put it on the baking sheet. The flavor was ok. Nothing special. I will just stick with Dominos to make these.

I made these tonight and followed the recipe to a T. I did have issues getting the dough to spread evenly buy I think that was my failure by allowing the dough to sit out too long before attempting to roll it. I personally would have preferred a tad more flavor so next time may try garlic salt instead of garlic powder but otherwise a very good recipe. Thanks for sharing!
