Easter Deviled Eggs

When prepared properly, these cream of mushroom soup-topped baked pork chops are fork-tender. On chilly days, they make excellent comfort food. Both the mashed potatoes and the pork chops taste wonderful with the cream of mushroom soup gravy.

Prep Time: 30 mins
Cook Time: 10 mins
Additional Time: 50 mins
Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins
Servings: 12
Yield: 24 deviled eggs halves

Ingredients

  1. 12 large large eggs
  2. ¼ cup creamy salad dressing (such as Miracle Whip®)
  3. ¼ teaspoon dry mustard
  4. salt and ground black pepper to taste
  5. hot sauce
  6. 4 drops red food coloring, or desired amount
  7. 4 drops blue food coloring, or desired amount
  8. 4 drops green food coloring, or desired amount
  9. 3 cups water, divided, or as needed

Instructions

  1. Place eggs into a large saucepan, cover with cold water, and bring to a boil. Let eggs boil for 3 minutes; turn off heat, cover pot, and let eggs cook in hot water for at least 20 minutes. Drain and cover eggs with cold water. Peel cooled eggs.
  2. Cut hard-cooked eggs in half lengthwise and remove yolks; mash yolks in a bowl with creamy salad dressing, dry mustard, salt, pepper, and hot sauce until smooth.
  3. Place red, blue, and green food coloring into 3 different bowls and add about 1 cup water to each bowl. Steep 8 egg white halves in each bowl, tinting the egg whites pink, light blue, and green. If color is too pale, add more food coloring to bowls. Drain colored egg whites on paper towels.
  4. Pipe or spoon egg yolk filling into colored egg white halves; cover and chill before serving, at least 30 minutes.

We love deviled eggs any time. The color was so cool! Look out for each holiday colors! I did make a batch using the prehardboiled peeled eggs. They were very good too.

Happy Easter. This is already a hit.I made them for Palm Sunday which was my 70th B-D. They were the statement! We loved them real…they still taste great!

I soaked them in about 8 drops for about 2 minutes. Very easy and pretty. I use Miracle Whip, Mustard, Vinegar. Then top with paprika.

I used my own recipe for the filling but loved this idea for colourful eggs at Easter. I ended up doubling the amount of food colouring and steeping time to get colour into my whites. Hint: if you want yellow as one of your colour choices, add a drop of red to it as the yellow on its own is almost too pale to even notice. I also mixed red and blue to make purple and they turned out nicely.

These were so fun! The pop of color really brings the Easter spirit. I used Dukes mayo and Texas Pete hot sauce. So yummy.

Made filling with creamy horseradish filling instead of recipe specks. Colored whites, but instead of a combo of colors to make blue, ended up with muddy brown which didn’t add to the pastel effect. Not worth the effort for adult guests, but kids would likr

I made this recipe a lot like it is given but double the Mayo. Also I did add Worcestershire sauce, red wine vinegar and about 1 tbsp of sugar to the batch. I sprinkled the tops with paprika, goat cheese and real bacon bits. Lots of wows and thumbs up. I personally would have added horse radish next time and I put wat too much salt in which is why I needed to add the sugar. Thanks for sharing your crafty Easter idea and recipe.

Filling was pretty dry, I used 1/2 cup mayo and added a tablespoon of sweet relish. Topped half with paprika and half with everything bagel seasoning.

The eggs tasted great, but I screwed up on the color and let them sit too long. They were darker shades of colors, not the nice pastels. It didn’t change the taste, and everyone ate them!

Fun, my granddaughter loved them too.

I did these mainly for the color for St. Patrick’s Day: green eggs and ham!!! I recently found a little protein sandwich that was A hard boiled egg cut horizontally with a slice of bacon, avocado, and Roma tomato. This was a great sub with the green tinted eggs and ham instead of the bacon!!! Thank You!

This recipe is so fun. My little sister loved making these with me, and she loved surprising her friends.

The 5 stars is for the coloring technique since I just made my own filling. You do need to let them sit for awhile if you want really dark colors but 10 min worked for me although my green and teal looked almost the same but I am sure that’s my fault 🙂

I did this and absolutely loved how they turned out. Will keep this in mind every Spring and Easter!!

I used my own recipe for the filling, but made them into little chicks as explained in the instructions. They were darling and got lots of positive comments.

These eggs were easy and a hit at Easter. I did not add any hot spice because the kids were going to be eating them as well as the adults! They disappeared quickly!

I used my usual recipe for deviled eggs….I’m sure everyone has one….and just colored the whites. They looked VERY festive and everyone wanted to know how to do it. The dyeing took a bit longer to set the color than I expected so keep that in mind.

I used this recipe for the coloring of the eggs, but I used the Avocado Deviled Eggs recipe for the inside…Total hit!
