Cranberry Cream Cheese Dip

5.0 – 9 reviews  • Cheese Dips and Spreads Recipes

While residing in Germany, I borrowed this from a neighbor and made some minor modifications. She, too, was an American. Every time we hosted a gathering, this was a hit! Salsa is excellent when made with fresh cranberries, jalapenos, sugar, green onions, and cilantro. You can make a fantastic dip by adding the cream cheese! Serve with Wheat Thins® or Ritz® crackers.

Yield: 16 servings

Ingredients

  1. 1 (12 ounce) package fresh cranberries
  2. 1 ¼ cups white sugar
  3. ¼ cup chopped green onion
  4. ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  5. 1 small jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
  6. 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  7. ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  8. 1 pinch salt
  9. 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese

Instructions

  1. Chop cranberries in a food processor or by hand. Transfer to a bowl.
  2. Add sugar, green onion, cilantro, jalapeno pepper, lemon juice, cumin, and salt to cranberries; mix well. Cover and store in the refrigerator until cranberries have lost some of their bitter taste, about 4 hours.
  3. Place cream cheese bricks on a plate and pour cranberry mixture over top. Serve immediately.
  4. You can also spread the cream cheese bricks evenly over the plate, and then spread the cranberry mixture over top.
  5. The refrigerated cranberry mixture (without the cream cheese) can also be used as a salsa.

Made this for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it.

I reduced sugar to 3/4 c–increased onion & jalapeños by 2x(to 1/2 cup) & used nuefchatel cheese.

I loved this and so did family and co-workers. I added more cilantro, an extra green onion and a couple more jalapenos. I also blended it all together with the cream cheese after the mixture sat overnight in the fridge. Very pink, but so yummy.

This was amazing! The flavors were so good and even the cilantro haters enjoyed this. I can’t wait to make this again.

Such an easy dish to make for holiday parties! The colors are red, white, and green. The taste is a balanced blend of sweet, tangy, and mild heat. It all made for a delicious addition to the appetizer table.

“Incredibly Yummy” my husband exclaimed. Of all the recipes I have made from allrecipes this is #1, simply the best, my fav! It’s easy, quick, vibrant in colors and the flavors are absolutely addicting!! We served the cream cheese side-by-side on a platter with Milton’s multi-grain organic crackers and pecan thins. The best part is since there are two chunks of cream cheese we froze one and have spent the whole day snacking on the other. Yum, Yum, Yum!!!

11.1.20 Very different and very tasty. Followed the recipe with the exception of adding more chopped jalapeños and cutting back the sugar a bit (both personal taste). I’d just picked up a baguette at the bakery, so we enjoyed this on crostini. It’s vibrant, fresh tasting, and simply delicious. This one’s a keeper, thanks for sharing momoftwinboys.
