The best banana waffles ever! They are typically offered as a dessert or a snack. They taste even better if you substitute Korean red bean paste for the banana. I had them when I was in Korea and wanted to reproduce the flavor there.

I decreased the flour and chocolate chips as others recommended, but these still fell apart. Dd thought they were not sweet enough. If I make them again, I will try adding peanut butter and maybe more brown sugar or honey.
There wasn’t enough to bind the bars together, for me. I ended up with granola. I used dried apricot instead of chocolate and maybe that made the difference.
Delicious taste, but crumbled to bits even when completely cooled. Guess I’ll be pouring milk over it and calling it granola!
If you prefer cruchy bars, add 3-5 minutes baking time.
I’ve made these for seventeen years – raised my kids on them! If the condition of my recipe image means anything, they’re well loved! * I modify by reducing flour to 2/3 c total. I use half white flour, half wheat, so that’s 1/3c white flour, 1/3c wheat flour. * I had to use earth balance vegan butter for several years due to a dairy allergy that my son grew out of, and they tasted just as great as with real butter. I never add anything healthy, just chocolate chips. These serve the function of treats in our household, not healthy snack :). Im feeling nostalgic because my oldest son just graduated and he asked me to make some for his drive to college. Figured it was time to review this family staple. Thanks for the recipe!
I have been making these for about the last 10 years and people beg me for the recipe, also I have sold them at church functions and my husband’s job site! I add cinnamon, pecans, raisins or dried cherries
They are good, but the basic recipe does not yield cohesive bars, but crumbly bits of granola. I made a second batch, added 2/3 cup of peanut butter and 1/2 cup of corn syrup and they were perfect. No crumbling.
Easy, nutritious and delish giving extra energy.
Came out just as planned. I did Bake for about 30 and used broiler for about 1 min. We have a lot of plans to make more and add new ingredients!
I added extra butter and honey, which really made it yummy.
Excellent recipe that can be adjusted to a variety of ingredients. Like other reviews, make sure to press the granola mix into the pan both before and after baking. I substituted agave nectar for honey on a 1:1 ratio, used a berry nut trail mix instead of chocolate, but otherwise kept everything the same. Also used parchment to line the pan which makes cutting and serving the bars so easy and keeps the pan easy to clean.
I did use a bit of a twist, I melted chocolate and put it on the top, and I also had to add a little extra honey. But it was a great recipe especially for someone starting to get into cooking.
Wonderful recipe. Instead of adding nuts or raisins, I cut up some fresh apples and added cinnamon to the recipe. Absolutely delicious. Play around with the recipe and try different flavors. You’ll love it!
Made these bars for the first time and they were crumbly. I need them to hold up on hikes. I added walnuts, raisins, sunflower seeds, and choc chips to make the 2 cups. Next time I will press HEAVILY (not lightly as the recipe instructs) into pan, and perhaps lessen the butter and add some peanut butter.
Really good my whole family loved it I would say add two eggs in it but overall it was delicious
Not chewy at all completely disappointed
I really had to change this up. The first problem was ingredients did not stick together after baking. I dumped into a bowl and added one egg and extra honey and butter. Cooked again for twenty minutes. Decided they were still not crunchy enough, so I cut up and baked again for 10 minutes. The second problem was not enough flavor so adding the extra honey and butter helped. I also added about 1/2tsp salt as there was none in recipe.

Good, but not great. A little too sweet, and the bars didn’t stay together well. Will tweak the recipe and try again. We tweaked the recipe and we added 1 cup butter and 2 eggs. We also cut the chocolate chips down to 1.5 cups. It tastes like a cookie. It was the best granola bar ever!!! I recommend to this recipe everyone.
I have made these many times, each time different. For gluten-free, substitute rice flour for wheat, and go forth and eat’em. I add cranberries, coconut, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, white chocolate chips, etc. Sometimes I use maple syrup and flavoring in place of honey and vanilla. We love these because they are chewy, tasty, healthy and travel well.
Super easy to make with amazing results. I toasted almonds, crushed them then combined coconut, sunflower seed and pumpkin seeds. Dried cranberries were an excellent addition and to top it off we added 3 tsp vanilla. Making it again for sure!
