Amazing
These were delicious! We did make a couple of substitutions though. Left out the gin, used bbq sauce instead of ketchup and added chili paste for a kick. Also added honey to the marinade instead of basting on wings. Have made it twice and it’s now one of our go tos for wings!
Great recipe! I made it without the gin, and made my own teriyaki sauce. I took advice from a review and baked the wings for about 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Delicious!!
AWFULLY SWEET! So sweet we could only eat a few. Smelled and looked great but if I ever were to make again, I’d cut the sugar in half (and probably wouldn’t use the honey either).
didnt add gin , and lesser garlic ! STILL TASTE SUPER GOOD THOUGH DEFINITELY WILL MAKE AGAIN
So tasty and marinated overbite makes the taste even tastier. finger licken good.
I have always added some jam to my bbq sauce instead of honey; this way you can personalize the sauce with any flavor jam or jelly…
My family really enjoyed these wings. I didn’t add the Gin, because I didn’t have any and only used 3/4 of a cup of oyster sauce, because that’s all I had, but it was still tasty! I did cook them in the oven (I didn’t have the option of grilling at the time) at 350 for 20 minutes, flipped for 15 more minutes and 5 minutes under the broiler. I also cooked them on a baking rack so they wouldn’t boil in the juices. I think it did help with the texture.
Not sure what all the fuss is about… we were not that impressed. We made these wings exactly as directed with the minor exception of leaving out the liquid smoke because we cooked them on our smoker and didn’t feel it was necessary. They were good, but certainly not great. We will continue our quest for the best grilled wings recipe.
This sauce is phenomenal !! I’ve used in on pork and multiple chicken dishes, from boneless breast to wings. didn’t change a thing.
I have made this countless times for my early morning tailgate and it is always a big hit. I Have done it with wings and chicken legs. I have never added the jin but haven’t missed it.
Did exactly as listed except for oyster sauce. Didnt have any. This was to die for!!! Hubby and I both loved it. Used the little bit of sauce that was left over the next day for hot dogs. Will try this again with different cuts of meat.
This recipe is amazing I make it for every hawks game 12th man aproved! turns out grat on my trager smoker
This is the best recipe that a restaurant couldn’t beat. Everybody always asks me for the recipe, but I won’t tell them so that I can be the hit of the party ;=)
Great recipe best barbque wings I ever made made recipe as written except I baked them in the oven for 1 hr at 350F and they turned out wonderful family loved them and we had no left overs
Very good overall, and the honey at the end is great. A little too much Asian influence in these though, I was hoping for more barbecue flavor.
Best wings ever! I made this for a work party and everyone loved it. I made it again for a Niner tailgate and it was a hit.
This was excellent even without the liquid smoke flavoring.
I love the flavor of this recipe. It’s much different and not too sweet either. Excellent 5/5
the secret is about the marinade and you have to turn the wings frequently once on the BBQ… people call and ask me to have a BBQ so they can get wings… i do between 15-20 pounds and never have a wing left. TURN THE WINGS A LOT
Joshua’s favourite. Very tasty and delicious!
