Asian-Inspired Chicken Lettuce Wraps

  5.0 – 3 reviews  • Lettuce Wraps Recipes

For boneless, skinless chicken breasts, which can be difficult to prepare because they are frequently bland and dry, I’m sharing with you my go-to marinade and grilling approach. In addition, I’ll demonstrate how to make whipped feta, which has become one of my new food favorites. Greek olives are a nice addition to the dish when served with grilled red onion and red bell pepper.

Ingredients

  1. 1 bunch green onions, sliced
  2. 1 (8 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and diced
  3. ¼ cup hoisin sauce
  4. 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
  5. 1 tablespoon Sriracha
  6. ¾ tablespoon rice vinegar
  7. 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
  8. ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  9. 1 tablespoon olive oil
  10. 1 cup diced yellow onion
  11. 1 pound ground chicken
  12. 3 cloves garlic, minced
  13. 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  14. salt and ground black pepper to taste
  15. 8 leaves Bibb lettuce, or more as needed

Instructions

  1. Set 2 to 3 tablespoons green onions aside for garnish. Combine remaining green onions, water chestnuts, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, Sriracha, rice vinegar, ginger, and red pepper flakes in a bowl.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add ground chicken, garlic, and sesame oil. Cook and stir until chicken is crumbly and no longer pink, 5 to 10 minutes.
  3. Add hoisin mixture to the skillet and cook until heated through, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Fill lettuce leaves with chicken mixture and top with reserved green onions.

It was fantastic! Only additions were 2 Tbs peanut butter and a bunch of chopped peanuts to the sauce. You’ll love it.

My husband was not at all excited by the idea of these lettuce wraps but after the first bite he apologized profusely for doubting me and loaded up his plate with seconds!
