Air-Fried Olives

Instead of the heavy, cheesy sauce that was common in the 1980s, I used a beautiful, light sauce on this iconic special occasion meal, lobster thermidor. The lighter sauce is a great choice because lobster is naturally sweet and flavorful. Better yet, you can prepare these in advance and simply throw them in the oven when your visitors come.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 25 mins
Total Time: 35 mins
Servings: 20
Yield: 20 air-fried olives

Ingredients

  1. ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
  2. 1 large egg, beaten
  3. ½ cup panko bread crumbs
  4. ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  5. 1 (6 ounce) jar jalapeno-stuffed green olives, drained
  6. 1 serving nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat an air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. Place flour in a bowl. Place beaten egg in a separate bowl. Combine bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese in a third bowl.
  3. Coat olives first in flour, then in egg, and finally in the bread crumb mixture.
  4. Place 1/2 of the olives in the basket of the air fryer. Spray the tops with cooking spray.
  5. Cook for 12 minutes, shaking halfway through cook time. Repeat with remaining half of olives.

If you love green olives you’ll love this. I used pimento stuffed ones, didn’t flip them in the oven but still turned out okay
