Boy let me tell you this recipe is deceptively hard to master. When they say “put the ice cream in and THEN put the root beer over top, that’s for your own safety. For some reason, the ice cream and the root beer have a reaction when they meet. It’s like an explosion. Like remember in Aliens vs Predator the first time you see the Predator meet the Alien? And the Alien is like “nuh uh, I’m going to get you, buddy.” But the Predator is like “CLK-CLK-CLK-CLK” which is Predator for “My people have been hunting you for a really long time, so I’m ready to throw down, fella. Boom now your tail is chopped off.” It’s like that. I have to tell you I was NOT PREPARED for what happened. The foam almost went over the side of the glass, which would have been really bad. I think Bobby Flay should put some sort of warning on this recipe because maybe people won’t have a tall enough glass or they might be pouring the root beer in too fast and they’ll be like “whoa, what just happened.” Also, I think it would have been cool if Bobby Flay was in Aliens vs Predator because I bet he’d come up with a fun Tex-Mex recipe for cooking the dead Aliens that the Predators would really enjoy. I mean, I’m not sure if they eat them after they kill them or what the deal is, but they probably could if you could figure out a way to neutralize the acid blood. Maybe lots of baking soda, which is basic.
