Reviews
normally i love chiarello’s recipes, and being italian, i LOVE my red wine. but wow, this has a serious amount of sugar. the spices smell fabulous and wintery, but next time, i think i’ll try half the sugar. otherwise, it’s almost not drinkable! way too sweet…
This is SUCH a winner. I make this every year for my Christmas parties and it’s always a huge hit. Delicious. Almost as good as the real thing in France :
It warms you from head to toe! The spices are wonderful!
I don’t like wine, but add all this stuff to it and it’s GOOD! And it smells amazing. If you leave it simmering on the stove or in a crockpot, your house will smell festive.
I got a zin but found it too dry. I guess some more direction on the wine would be helpful, as that’s the key ingredient.
Wow, this was amazing!! I am a huge fan of spiced wine, we always buy it, serve it and drink it over the holidays. I decided to try making one myself. This was the PERFECT combination of spices. It was so balanced and delicious. I used Woodbridge Red zifandel by Robert Mondavi. I also let it get warm and then left it sit and steep for a while. I would recommend this to everyone!!! Enjoy!!
