Yield: 6 to 8 servings

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cup milk
  2. 1 cup good-quality yogurt, preferably not fat-free
  3. 1 tablespoon honey
  4. 1 cantaloupe or another orange melon, such as Crenshaw, Charentais, or Cavaillon
  5. 1/2 green honeydew melon
  6. 1/2 small watermelon
  7. 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  8. 1 or 2 limes, cut into wedges

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the milk, yogurt, and honey. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. When ready to serve, peel and seed the melons and cut into 1-inch cubes. Combine them in a bowl, toss lightly, and divide the mixture among dessert bowls (preferably glass, so that you can see the melon colors). Drizzle yogurt sauce on top of the fruit. Sprinkle each serving with about 2 teaspoons brown sugar and serve with lime wedges to squeeze over the fruit at the table.

What a great dessert idea! Even kids loved it. It is best if the melons and yogurt are really chilled, though.

I loved the idea of using all the melons combined, but the yogurt sauce was really runny and thin! I’m not sure how you can thicken it up, but it tasted yummy, just not great to keep as leftovers, it was just ok.

We enjoyed this salad. It is simple to make and very flavorful. I used a peach yogurt which was a great combination to the fresh melons. Since some of my family prefers their fruit plain, I put the bowl of fruit on the table with dressing and brown sugar on the side. I had cut up the fruit a couple of hours before dinner and mixed them with the lime juice.

beautiful combo of melons, sauce a little thin but good flavor. I put them in clear plastic beverage cups.
