Always a hit in my house. Sometime I feel like more capers and less pickles so I adjust to suit my mood and what I’m serving it with. Also, I use dill relish as a time saving step when needed. I pair this with Alton Brown’s Tuna Croquette recipe (with Salmon or Tuna) and they are always good together.
My neighbour invited me for dinner- beer batter fish- it was really good! Her home made tartar sauce was “Ina’s’ recipe- her family nor mine could eat it– the next day I printed out Tyler’s recipe and gave it to her-This is the ultimate yartar sauce!
This is the only tartar sauce you will ever want. Quick easy and easy and taste great!
You will never want to buy store brand ever again. Even my son, who does not like tartar sauce, loves this recipe. Can’t wait to have my neighbors try it.
Love Chef Tyler. Awesome guy and chef.
I always turn to Tyler when I want to do something right. This recipe was no exception. I used sweet relish instead of the unicorns :-), I used Frank’s Original hot sauce (and more that a splash) and I added a few turns of sea salt at the end just to help the marination. It tasted wonderful when it was first done. I’m looking forward to tasting it after it chills overnight in the fridge and I make shrimp Po’ Boys tomorrow evening for dinner! I hope I can always make this when I want it and not have to buy the prepped stuff at the store. No comparison at all!
What a great recipe! Eased up on the the gherkins to about half and added in one half green onion finely chopped.
Yum! I love the lemon juice in this.
OH YEA! I didnt use cornishons or capers but instead i used relish. I love the freshness parsely adds! #Flavah
Easy and delicious. This is the only tartar sauce we eat. I don’t even need the recipe anymore. I use homemade dill pickles instead of the cornichons and sometimes I use dried parsley instead of fresh. They soak up the juice of the pickles and lemon for a thicker tartar sauce.
