Ingredients
- 1/4-ounce ginger, finely chopped
- 1/8 teaspoon Hawaiian chili pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon chopped ogo (fresh seaweed)
- 1/2-ounce sesame oil, for taste
- Hawaiian alae (red sea salt)
- 1 bag taro chips
- 1-ounce ahi, diced (Hawaiian tuna)
- 1/8-ounce chives, chopped
Instructions
- Cut Ahi into small cubes and mix all the ingredients together. Season to taste. Mix thoroughly and serve it with taro chips.

This is the perfect ahi poke recipe…true to how locals make it in Oahu. I like that he portioned it for single servings because someties you just have a piece of ahi to do that..and increasing it is a no-brainer. Love serving it with Taro Chips. Did not make my own – Terra Chips makes excellent Taro Chips that are lo sodium enough to not compete with the poke. Barring those I might go with a rice crisp like the little rounds sod at Trader Joes…but no potato or tortilla chips…wrong flavor profile IMHO
