Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 teaspoons lime zest (from about 1 lime)
  2. 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (from about 3 limes)
  3. 1 tablespoon sugar
  4. Freshly ground pepper
  5. 3 cups seeded and finely chopped watermelon
  6. 1 cucumber, peeled, seeded and diced
  7. 1 mango, peeled and diced
  8. 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
  9. 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  10. 8 fresh basil leaves, finely chopped
  11. 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  12. Tortilla or pita chips, for serving

Instructions

  1. Stir together the lime zest, lime juice, sugar and 3/4 teaspoon pepper in a bowl. Add the watermelon, cucumber, mango, jalapeno, onion and basil and toss gently. Chill the salsa until ready to serve.
  2. Add the garlic salt just before serving. Serve with chips.

Excellent recipe I’ve made now several time – thanks for posting it .. We love it on Caribbean dogs, as a dip or as a side salad type dish. I always tweak a recipe & sometimes I add Cilantro instead of the Basil occasionally or just add both .. My husband loves Cantaloupe so I add it also ..

It taste very good. But its not a salsa its a pico de gallo . i rate it 4 star because calling it a salsa is a disgrace to salsa
