These are my favorite go to for a quick, yummy, treat! Everyone who I give these to ask me for more. 😉
Delicious! I did make some changes to this recipe, but the proportions of ingredients were just right. I subbed graham crackers for vanilla wafers, pecans instead of walnuts, added 2 tablespoons of cocoa, and two more tablespoons of rum. (I used Kraken black spiced rum. Yum!) I also replaced one tablespoon of corn syrup for molasses, since I only had light corn syrup on hand. I rolled half of them in powdered sugar, half in cocoa, and added diced apricots to some of them. They taste just like the ones my aunt used to make!
I used honey instead of corn syrup, and I refrigerated the dough before rolling which made it much easier to handle.
Just like Grandma’s. I substitute coconut instead of walnuts due to an allergy in the family and they are still great.
I didnt like these at all. The texture is weird and I’m not tasting anything good.
You can put the wafers between 2 sheets of wax paper or plastic wrap and use s rolling pin to
crush them..it makes clean-up time easier!
!I was looking for a classic rum ball recipe and you just can’t get better than Paula Deen

This is a favorite among the family. They insist I bring these to Grandpa’s house every Christmas Eve.
I make these often. I have tried to make a smaller bite size rum ball, but they don’t seem to get very round.
Instead of all having powered sugar coating, I roll some in flaked coconut and others in sprinkles. Mo better, Mo fun.
I also added to 2 tablespoons of coco powder because that is how mom used to make them.
Anyone have some recommendations on how to crumb the vanilla cookies? I have tried the bullet and tried to do it by hand. I hate to drag out the Cuisinart for a few crumbs.
Have made them often.
mmmmmmmmmmmm i like to add even more rum ! and dark cocoa powder wicked ! try it!
