Ingredients

  1. 1 pound strawberries, hulled
  2. 1/2 cup sugar
  3. 4 large basil leaves, plus sprigs for garnish
  4. 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Add the strawberries, sugar, basil leaves and lemon juice to a blender; puree on high speed for 1 minute. Add 2 cups cold water and puree for an additional minute. Pour the mixture into a large pitcher and stir in another 2 cups cold water.
  2. Serve over ice.

I have a sweet tooth but it has way too much sugar. Could use a little more lemon and basil. I made two batches and adjusted on the second run. Came out great after the adjustments

I made this with the tequila – reduced the water and replaced it with the tequila.  It was delicious and my guests loved it.  Next time I may try it with vodka!
