Ingredients
- Deselect All
- One 16-ounce package chocolate sandwich cookies, such as Oreo (about 30 cookies)
- 6 ounces cream cheese
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening or refined coconut oil
- 2 cups white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pulse the cookies in a food processor to fine crumbs. Remove 2 tablespoons crumbs to a small bowl and reserve. Add the cream cheese and pulse until it just comes together. Transfer to a large bowl and knead a few times until completely combined.
- Roll into 24 balls, each about 2 heaping tablespoons. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet and refrigerate until chilled through, about 45 minutes.
- Put the semisweet chocolate in a medium heatproof bowl with 1 tablespoon oil. Put the white chocolate chips in another medium heatproof bowl with the remaining tablespoon oil. Melt the chocolate mixtures one at a time, stirring occasionally, over a double boiler until smooth.
- Drop one truffle at a time into the semisweet chocolate mixture, using two forks to evenly coat. Tap any excess chocolate off, then return to the baking sheet. Drizzle with the white chocolate mixture, then quickly sprinkle with the reserved cookie crumbs. Continue until all the truffles are coated and decorated. Return to the refrigerator to set, about 5 minutes. Serve chilled.

I make these every Christmas they are a big hit
I had these with mint chocolate and they were delicious, very rich, you only need one or two to satisfy your chocolate craving, so very good!
I chopped up some salted peanuts for the crumble on top and did a salted caramel drizzle in lieu of the Oreo crumble on top and white chocolate drizzle. YUM. original recipe was a little rich in chocolate, this helped
Although very tasty, we found the process of dipping and drizzling the chocolate to be very messy and the cookies look nothing like the picture. The center is very tasty but almost too moist. This was our first try, any suggestions?
So delicious and sooo easy that even kids can do this alone. I prefer “bathing” the oreo balls in white chocolate. The contrast of the oreo and white chocolate is perfect.
A friend made them and we had them Friday they were excellent! My husband couldn’t stop eating them so I’m gonna try to make them myself this week. She said they were super easy to make and they sure were good
If you make this recipe, I recommend softening the cream cheese (which the recipe does not mention). There is not enough “dough” to use 2 heaping tablespoons for each ball. Instead, you get 1 heaping tablespoon maximum. However, I recommend making them even smaller because each ball ends up being quite large and too rich. You do not need to melt nearly as much chocolate as they mention, perhaps 1/2 the semisweet and 1/4 the white. In the end, these were easy to make and tasted okay, but I won’t make them again.
I use crushed candy canes instead of white chocolate, and it’s a alway a hit
Do not put oil in the chocolate morsels… I recommend following the melting directions on the package the morsels come in. Other than that these are amazing.
