Ingredients

  1. Deselect All
  2. 2 packages microwave popcorn (not butter flavored)
  3. 4 tablespoons butter
  4. 3 tablespoons water
  5. 3/4 cup sugar
  6. 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Prepare popcorn in microwave according to package directions. Pour popcorn into 1 or 2 large bowls. (You will need plenty of room to toss with hot sugar mixture.)
  2. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add water, sugar and cinnamon, increase the heat, and bring to a boil. Boil for 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from heat. Be careful; the sugar mixture is extremely hot! Pour half of mixture over the popcorn. Carefully stir or toss to combine. Add remaining sugar mixture and combine. Serve.

It is delicious and easy to make.

This recipe is simple and delicious. I pop popcorn in my air popper and add this on, it literally takes 5 minutes. We like to modify the recipe a bit by eliminating the cinnamon and adding vanilla and a touch of cayenne, plus a sprinkling of kosher salt at the end.

awesome! we love to buy kettle corn at fairs and the like. this far exceeds the taste of anything of its kind. i added a little sea salt to give it the sweet/salty contrast.

My family LOVED this caramel corn. I changed a few things and added Mexican vanilla to it and a bit of salt. I did use buttered microwave popcorn because that was all I had and it was amazing. It does get better as it sits a bit and its not as sticky as it is right after you pour the topping on. It was a little more like butter toffee popcorn. This is quick and easy and the whole family loved it. I will definitely make this again and again!!!

I literally whipped this up in minutes and it was perfect!

I used buttered popcorn and it tasted fine.. I also used “pumpkin pie spices”, so it was perfect for our holiday party!

Do Try!

This was not at all what I thought it would be. The caramel even though I stirred continuously for 4 minutes was sugary not smooth at all. No one in my family liked it. I wanted wonderful, buttery caramel and this definitely was not it, or even close. I finally found this great recipe on Allrecipes called microwave caramel popcorn! It is quick easy and actually tastes like caramel popcorn.
