Ingredients
- 2 cups frozen peas, thawed
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
- 2 large Red Delicious apples, cored and diced
- 1 tablespoon white sugar (Optional)
- ½ cup mayonnaise, or more to taste
Instructions
- Combine peas, cheese, apples, sugar, and mayonnaise in a bowl. Fold together gently to mix and dissolve sugar. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.

This was very good. For more crunch I added 1/2 cup chopped celery, and 1/2 cup chopped sweet red onion. Also, I mixed 1/4 cup sour cream with 1/4 cup mayo instead of just mayo. Turned out perfect.

1.13.17 My apples were succulently sweet, so I didn’t add the optional sugar, and I cut back on the amount of mayo (personal taste preference). The apples add nice flavor to this classic pea salad.
