Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  1. ¼ cup canola oil
  2. 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  3. 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  4. 1 tablespoon honey
  5. 2 cloves garlic, pressed
  6. 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  7. 2 teaspoons dried Italian herb seasoning
  8. 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  9. 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  10. 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

Instructions

  1. Mix canola oil, lemon zest, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, honey, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Italian herb seasoning, salt, and black pepper in a bowl; pour into a resealable plastic bag. Place chicken breasts into the bag, seal, and squeeze bag with your fingers several times to coat chicken with marinade. Place a second resealable bag over the first and seal to prevent leaks. Refrigerate chicken for 2 to 4 hours.
  2. Preheat grill for medium heat and lightly oil the grate.
  3. Remove chicken breasts from bag; discard used marinade. Cook chicken on the preheated grill until the center is no longer pink and the juices run clear, 7 to 8 minutes per side.

I use this as a marinade for chicken pieces that I skewer and grill. I reserve some marinade and slather it on the skewers while they cook. Great flavor and so easy!

This is now our GoTo marinade. I made it with thighs for a party and everyone loved them.

It is delicious! My very picky kiddo asked me for second’s!! I was blown away. Recipe is a keeper!!

I made the marinade as the recipe called, adding skinless chicken thighs with the breasts. It was delicious.

This was AWESOME, made exactly as directed except used boneless skinless thighs. Marinated 4 hours. My husband inhaled it, and my VERY picky kids who thought they didn’t like lemon anything LOVED it – so much we’re making it twice this week. Thank you for the recipe!

I really enjoyed this marinade/recipe but like others I made some changes. I used olive oil, more garlic, replaced the Italian seasoning with Mrs Dash Italian seasoning and skipped the salt. It rained so I roasted the chicken. No way I’d ever cook past 150/155. 165 gives me shoe leather. Very moist and mildly flavorful with leftovers that’ll be great another night.

The whole family loved it and even my picky daughters ate seconds! Will definitely make it again.

It had a quite nice flavor. I would definitely make this again.

Very good! Turned out tender, juicy and flavorful. I doubled the honey and basted more during early cooking. I wrapped in foil and moved to top grill rack for the last 25% of cooking time.

Timeless, fail-safe recipe which I’ve made more times that I than I care to admit. Utilizing Costco’s thinly-sliced chicken breasts, these marinated breasts, indeed, grill perfectly cross-hatched @ 7-8 mins. If you’re compelled to deviate from our author’s classic, consider the alternative of Heinz 57 w/a thimble of lime juice –

I didn’t have Dijon, so used honey cup mustard instead. Grilled on Weber Q grill on medium 8-9 min each side. My 2nd Time grilling chicken (ever) and it turned out great. Next time I might put the heat just under medium and try 9 min each side. It was a bit windy out, maybe that made it take a bit longer?? When reheated in the microwave on medium heat, the chicken breast was still moist, which was a nice surprise.

Very tasty. Will make again.

Followed directions, had a great lemon flavor even the next day, should have cooked longer or at a higher temp.

I was looking to do something different with chicken breasts. Hubs rarely comments but said this was just ok and not to save the recipe. Personally I think lime would be better than lemon in this marinade, but overall it really had no pizzazz. I have used bottled salad dressings as a marinade that were better than taking the time to mix this up. Sorry.

So good, just as written! My whole family loved it.

Made this several times. Yummy. However, I baked it in the oven. Was still quite yummy!

Very tasty and moist!

Omg. This is so good! I don’t typically like white meat chicken because I find it dry but this is seriously the best chicken I’ve ever had! Like restaurant quality delicious. I made sure to use thick chicken breasts. We grilled it and then cut them in half to make thin cut breasts and then finished cooking them on the stove top so they wouldn’t burn. Will probably start making this on a regular basis. Paired with mashed potatoes and garlic honey broccoli. Yummy!!

Simply and delicious! A definite keeper!!!

I only marinated it for 90 minutes but it still tasted amazing! Highly recommend!

I will make it again and add a little more honey.
