Grill Master Chicken Wings

  4.8 – 501 reviews  • Wings

The grilled chicken wings are a perennial favorite. Before a party, I grill them and keep them warm in a low oven. Frank’s RedHot sauce is what I always use. It is flavorful and not overly spicy.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 20 mins
Total Time: 30 mins
Servings: 10

Ingredients

  1. 3 pounds chicken wings, cut apart at joints, wing tips discarded
  2. ½ cup soy sauce
  3. ½ cup Italian-style salad dressing
  4. ¼ cup butter
  5. ¼ cup hot pepper sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot), or to taste
  6. 1 teaspoon soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare wings: Combine chicken wings, soy sauce, and Italian dressing in a large resealable plastic bag; coat chicken wings with marinade, squeeze out excess air, and seal the bag. Marinate in the refrigerator, 4 hours to overnight.

Amazing recipe! I made these today and I can’t get enough of the flavor. I marinated the wings for 24 hours, put them in the oven at 350 for 30 min then dunked them in the buffalo sauce and finished them on the grill. The flats took about 5 min and the drums were ready in 10. I’m really happy I found this recipe!

Made these several times and followed the recipe very closely. I took the suggestion from another reviewer and baked the wings for 30 minutes at 350⁰ and transferred to the grill after saucing. Delicious!

We’ve done these wings a dozen times and everyone asks for the recipie. The thing we do is to cook them way longer than suggested, and maybe more than many think is right, but that’s our secret. We cook them slow for a half hour per side – or more – until the internal temp is above 200. Are they dry? Nope. They’re perfect.

I expected the vinaigrette dressing and soy sauce to meld well together, but it just ended up being kind of disgusting. Definitely finding a different way to do my wings in the future.

Charred, juicy, sticky and spicy? Oh yes, very good. Marinated for about 1/2 a day. Yummy!!!

Awesome! Don’t change a thing.

Simple, easy, and turned out great. Doesn’t matter how much chicken you have, the ratio for the marinade is 1 part soy sauce to 1 part Italian dressing. Then tossing it in the Frank’s/butter combo with a smidge of soy sauce adds uniqueness.

We really enjoyed this recipe. It was simple and had great flavor with minimal marinade time (4 hours). The basting sauce was surprisingly delicious, and wasn’t spicy. My kids complain about spice but they devoured these wings. Would make no changes but will comment that I only had enough ingredients to make half the marinade with 2.5 lb of chicken and it was adequate.

This is our new “go-to” for wing recipe!! It satisfies those that enjoy the “Buffalo spice”, and those that don’t (no sauce). The marinade is amazing and sooo good!

Excellent and easy to make. Not too spicy but flavorful.

MY NEW FAVORITE WING. The soy sauce is a perfect addition to basically a Buffalo wing. I grilled on top of cherry wood. I could eat these every night.

This is my go to wing recipe! No fail. Follow the recipe. I do use low sodium soy sauce. Simply the BEST!!

These are the best wings and easy to make. My entire family loved them. I used a little less pepper sauce but will probably stick to the recipe next time.

The recipe was slightly altered as I only had about 2/3 cup of Italian dressing so I added some 2tbs of dijon mustard, one clove of garlic, and a greek feta dressing I had to top up the 1 cup required to the Italian dressing. the whole batch was amazing.

This is the easiest recipe and the taste is amazing. After I cut my wings because I buy whole wings, cut them and discard the wing tip, I put the wings into a gallon freezer bag with the soy sauce and Italian dressing, give it a good shake and throw them into the freezer. Thaw and grill when we want grill wings. They come out fantastic.

I ran out of soy sauce, so I just marinaded and grilled. And I made my own dressing …which I usually do… olive oil, red wine vinegar, lots of pressed garlic, dry mustard, salt and pepper. They were delicious- moist- perfect. . I can’t even imagine needing the marinade. Def will make again and so easy to remember. 1/2 soy, 1/2 italian dressing.

Come out perfect every time!

made these last night, super easy. I did do the marinade overnight and grilled them on my electric grill for roughly 25 mins turning the wings about very five minutes.
