Apple Pie Liquor

On a chilly, rainy day in Ireland, I like to make this recipe. It is the recipe I have that is requested the most. Depending on what is available and what you desire, you can add a variety of fish items. a treat when paired with Irish brown bread.

Ingredients

  1. 18 cups water
  2. 1 gallon apple cider
  3. 6 (6 ounce) cans frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed
  4. 4 cups white sugar
  5. 4 cups brown sugar
  6. 7 cinnamon sticks
  7. 1 (750 milliliter) bottle 190 proof grain alcohol (such as Everclear®)

Instructions

  1. Mix water, apple cider, apple juice concentrate, white sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon sticks together in a large saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until mixture is reduced, about 45 minutes. Remove from heat and cool for 15 minutes.
  2. Stir grain alcohol into mixture until evenly combined. Cool apple pie liquor completely. Pour apple pie liquor and 1 cinnamon stick into a jar or container.

I did make some changes by adding apple pie spice. A bottle of butter extract after cooling
