My family has passed down this dish, which has become a favorite. If you have extra waffles, freezing them and toasting them later is a terrific idea. I frequently double the recipe so that there are plenty of leftovers for the children to have for breakfast before school.

I doubled the batch but kept the 1 Tbsp of vanilla. Tasted Great
Simple recipe that my 8 year old made and decorated her cookies with minimal help!
We loved i
Absolutely the easiest recipe for frosting!
My husband told me this icing was so much better than the icing his mom makes, and considering he eats entire plates of her cookies, I’ll take that compliment.
Way too much vanilla. Just tasted like alcohol.
I used half and half instead of milk and it was very nice plus used about 1 tsp instead of a Tbs of Vanilla, tasted great! This will be my go-to icing for cookies!
Absolutely wonderful! Rich, creamy and fluffy. So easy, so good!
Just enough butter in this icing. Iced about a dozen large cookies
Very easy recipe to follow but I’d add less confectioners sugar next time
I mdae it, and i wish it could be less sweeter..
The icing itself is absolutely delish and a good consistency for piping and / or spreading with a knife. A lot tasier than royal icing. Only downside is that the original recipe made the smallest, saddest lump of icing. I had to do 3 times the recipe to ice my sugar cookies. So might be easier for people to make more the first time instead of doubling or tripling after the fact
This is my favorite icing to put on my cookies. Easy to make and tastes great.
Had a great time baking with my boys!! Teaching them how to cook like real men! Thanks for easy recipe!!
Really good. I loved it!
Nice recipe. As others have noted a full tablespoon of vanilla is a lot. I added 1 tsp of vanilla and 1 tsp of almond extracts and it was delicious. This icing won’t completely harden, which I think is better for eating and enjoying…but if you need it to harden look for different recipe. Happy holidays!
Used eval milk and added about a tsp of heavy cream when thinning was needed. 1 tsp vanilla only. Great flavor.
This icing is exactly what you want for Xmas cookies! It is tasty and spreads well on cookies as well as being ‘brushed’ on cookies for texture.
It tasted great! I used it for sugar cookies and it was perfect, also a great recipe to use if you want a easy one.
Just yum we all love it
This is my go-to for decorated sugar cookies. Hardens nicely but doesn’t get rock hard. Plus it tastes great.
