Great recipe. We tripled it, added potatoes and went 1lb each of hamburger, hot Jimmy dean sausage and regular Jimmy dean sausage. Also used Italian seasoning instead of just basil and Rotel instead of plain diced tomatoes
I’ve made several times. We loved it. I also put some black beans with the corn. Very good!
Did not have bullion so I used beef stock. Excellent, yummy recipe.
I’ve this a few times now. I made the first time as stated except I was missing one ingredient. I substituted a couple diced potatoes instead of corn. Hubs couldn’t believe it was just made with hamburger…anyhow pretty tasty and very adaptable to what I have in my kitchen at the time. Also freezes well for soup & sandwich nights and great to cook when friends drop in. Serve with some crusty rolls and a salad and your good to go! Thanks for a great recipe.
I have made this for many years. Everyone in my family loves it. I follow it as written but add a bell pepper and garlic. I think the ketchup is the secret.
I added more crushed tomatoes, lots of garlic, thyme, parsley and rosemary. I omitted the corn and threw in a small amount of alphabet pasta that I had on hand. It was delicious!
I add potatoes to mine cause I love me some taters! So good on a rainy day like today. Warms you up nice and toasty.
My family LOVES IT!!! I accidentally used tomato paste not the soup and I like it better. I’m wondering if I can freeze it and it NOT charge the taste.
Didn’t have bouillon so I used beef broth but otherwise I made just as listed and it was delicious! The perfect soup on a chilly winter day. Served with biscuits, this was a hit with my three guys! Thanks for sharing.
I added a little bit of cabbage , however was very tasty and everyone enjoyed it
Very filling! I added chopped green pepper to it and used a sweet basil seasoning. My family really liked it. I’ll make it again
Way way to much SALT, please revisit the recipe.
I love this recipe ! So versatile and delicious no matter what I add to it. Most times I add cabbage and a can of drained and rinsed black beans or kidney beans. Yummy all the time !
I added a few more vegetables.
Great.
I think it is a good one and I use hamburger in just about everything I cook
Fantastic! My daughter and I made this (veganized of course because who likes eating dead animals….ewww. The Meetless Co. makes a great ground product that worked just like ground beef here). The ratio of veggies is perfect! I diced 4 red potatoes to add a little more starch since I didn’t have barley… which I really wanted to add because that’s how my family made it growing up. I also used fresh basil. Pretty colors, tastes bright and vibrant!
I added a lot more vegetables, including peppers and some cauliflower. It was excellent.
This was great and simple. I just added two large minced garlic cloves, three potatoes diced small and a teaspoon black pepper.
I loved it and used the suggestions of MUMOFTWINS and it turned out delicious!!
Delicious! Made two adjustments. I used vegetable broth near the end. I used Basil, Garlic and Onion canned tomatoes instead of adding basil separately. Was a hit all around. Will make again!
