It only takes a few minutes to put together this delicious mac and cheese in a slow cooker. Excellent for bringing to potluck dinners and large family gatherings. It’s a huge hit every time!

Ingredients
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon chili powder
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
- 2 large heads cauliflower
- 2 tablespoons minced cilantro (Optional)
Instructions
- Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
- Whisk oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt, smoked paprika, brown sugar, chili powder, and black pepper together in a bowl; set aside.
- Remove the tough bottom leaves from each cauliflower, taking care not to remove the stem. Place the cauliflower heads onto a cutting board with the stem side facing upwards; cut vertically on both sides of the stem to remove the loose florets. Cut each cauliflower vertically through the stem into 2 even “steaks”, 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick; remove any remaining small leaves from each steak. Place cauliflower steaks on a baking sheet.
- Brush one side of each steak with some of the oil mixture. Place steaks on the preheated grill, oiled-side down; grill for 5 minutes. Brush more oil mixture on top of steaks and gently flip over; grill until golden brown and slightly charred, 5 to 7 minutes more. Drizzle with any remaining oil and remove to a plate. Sprinkle with cilantro.
- You can grill the extra cauliflower florets in a grill basket alongside steaks, or refrigerate for another use.

I forgot to add the cilantro at the end, but it didn’t affect my rating. We really liked this recipe, cauliflower on the grill was a nice change of pace. This recipe will be made again.
Very good! My only problem is that no matter how hard I try, my cauliflower explodes into pieces when I try to cut it. I can only get two slices out of the center, and the rest breaks appart. Otherwise it’s delicious!
My only two changes: 1) my cauliflower must be on the large size as I only needed one (I saved the second head now for another recipe), and 2) I was nervous about putting these “steaks” directly on the grill so I put them on a thin, Pam-sprayed, tinfoil pan instead. I was worried they would fall apart! The tinfoil pan worked well!! Good flavor and easy to prepare! Loved the “steak” idea! Really good and would make again! Thanks FranceC!
Very straightforward and easy to follow. Dining companions found it a tad sweet, so may lower brown sugar to 1/4 tsp. Smoked paprika was a winner First attempt and will definitely try again and add some tweaks
Relish, I did precook in foil packet and after cooked just before eating added a splash of balsamic vinegar with a hint of olive oil. Also no cilantro added. I love it but the family doesn’t. So basil is a good swap. Thanks for this we will make it again and again.
Added pine nuts and yellow raisins.
This was really delicious and very easy thank you very much my family and I loved it
I really wanted to like this, but I think the lemon taste was too strong.
I have made this twice and it is a keeper
This was actually very good. The combination of smoked paprika and garlic for savory. The brown sugar to take the edge off and the slight lemon juice undertones. I did sprinkle some powdered garlic while cooking as well. I did it the easy way and got a non-stick pan pretty hot with a little sunflower oil and “grilled” them that way. Turned out great. I will definitely do this again sometime.
Very nice added a teaspoon of tumeric
I love cauliflower and this was something different to try. It was really good. It took longer to cook on my gas grill, but I’ll try a higher heat next time. Only change was to add some red pepper flakes to the mix.
These are so tasty! A nice side dish to make along side your grilled meat or fish. Will be making again!
This was so delicious! Thank you.
Always looking for new ideas and this caught my eye. I had a head of cauliflower and figured I’d give it a try.
Excellent
This was surprisingly delicious. I did cook mine a little longer and I added hot pepper flakes to the brushing sauce. It was so easy to make and I just threw it on the grill with Kevin’s Orange Chicken. Mmmm yum!
Really flavorful! I had a hard time cutting the cauliflower into “steak” shapes and it just crumbled under the knife, so I just stir fried it and added spring onion and cayenne pepper.
Quick, easy and delicious. Great way to serve cauliflower.
