Creamy Snow Cream

A fantastic, uncommon holiday treat! Make sure it has snowed for two hours, as it takes that long for air contaminants to be cleaned. Next, grab a fresh blanket and gather the snow. Enjoy!

Runny….snow cream has never looked like bought ice cream…just isn’t gonna happen. I’ve tried many diff recipes and really the best is gather up enough fresh snow, hard packed, drizzle in the sweetened condensed milk and keep adding snow until a “good” consistency is achieved….eat quickly! Putting it back into fridge did result in a chunk, blob of frozen sweetened milk! It’s the process of making it with kids that’s the charm. I am sure ‘back in the day’ cream and sugar is prolly the only two ingredients on hand, vanilla would’ve been a luxury most families wouldn’t had! Kids will eat anything sweet, that’s why I’d leave out the EGG! Give the recipe a go…just be prepared it will not be like modern ice cream…it’s an adventure that’s why this recipe is a gem!

Excellent! This brought me back to my childhood but without the raw egg. This is not one you can freeze overnight. The 2 hours as directed is perfect. Anything over 3 hours starts turning to ice. Perfect as written really. Don’t forget the sprinkles!
