Simple cut-out cookies that are delicious all year round. This recipe was given to me while I was in elementary school, so it’s a nice one to get the kids involved in.

Prep Time: 5 mins
Total Time: 5 mins
Servings: 1
Yield: 1 sidecar

Ingredients

  1. ice cubes
  2. ½ fluid ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
  3. ½ fluid ounce Cointreau or triple sec
  4. 1 fluid ounce brandy
  5. 1 lemon wedge

Instructions

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker 3/4 full with ice cubes. Pour in lemon juice, Cointreau, and brandy. Cover and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds until the outside of the shaker becomes cold and frosty. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a wedge of lemon.

Tasty! I made my first one from memory and was overwhelmed with lemon, which I like but it wasn’t what I was after. Using the correct proportions, I really enjoyed this and will keep the ingredients around.

I love it! Nice change from whiskey coke 🙂 when I’m not feeling so lazy I will try the sugar rim.

dangerously delicious! I served this at a party and my girlfriends and I loved it! Boy, do these ever go down smoothly! I didn’t think to tell them that there was quite a bit of brandy in the drinks and although they were very happy at the party, they told me they were not feeling so happy the next morning.

I use lime juice for the lemon juice and make that 1-1/2 oz of brandy. Otherwise this is a classic without the simple syrup. A plus for low cal

Wonderful recipe! If you like a sweeter drink, then add a packet of Splenda before shaking.
