Eagle Brand Chocolate Truffles

This is an invention of mine. It is quick, simple, filling, and reasonably priced. Excellent for weeknight meal when everyone is busy. Because the recipe easily translates, I will either double it while I’m cooking for my entire family or halve it when I’m just cooking for myself. Additionally, due to the huge portion sizes, one dish will serve 4 kids.

It was SO easy! I added orange flavoring instead of vanilla:MMMMM and rolled them in grated orange peel.

LOVED IT!!! these are really easy to make, and use simple around the house ingredients that you won’t have to go to the store for. super rich and tasted better than I expected. definitely recommend!

I rolled these in powdered sugar because the truffle filling is not super sweet and it made for a very nice balance. Easy to make, don’t rush the chill stage.

I have been making these candies since the 1980s when they were called fudge, just place into a square pan, cool and cut into squares. I have given out countless numbers for gifts. It also makes a fast easy sweet treat for the family.

I use this recipe to make peanut butter truffles. I substitute the semi sweet chips with peanut butter chips. So simple to make and I dip them in white chocolate. When I do make the chocolate truffles I prefer dark chocolate chips and roll them in sweetened dark chocolate cocoa powder. It is all about your preference. You could even use caramel chips or butterscotch chips to change it up. The recipe is very versatile. Just experiment with things you like. I simple follow the recipe except for using different chips.

I loved these! I dipped in white chocolate. Yes they do taste like fudge but I love them! Lots of variations you could make.

Delicious! I made the batch and put 1/2 TB of orange extract in half the batch and 1/2 TB of vanilla in the other half. I left them in the fridge overnight because I was busy and then discovered it was to hard to make into balls even leaving it out to soften for hours. So I cut it up into squares and now have truffle fudge! Delicious! The orange flavor is the best.

It was great for a Christmas Party

Absolutely delicious!! Loved them. For my second batch the only change I made was using Eagle Brand Caramel flavored Sweetened Condensed milk. Loved it!!

I’ve made this several times although I call it truffle fudge as real truffles don’t have any sugar in them as they are supposed to be semi-sweet and use cream. One thing I have done in this and in the truffles I make is to put it into three different bowls and in one bowl add rum or brandy. In other I put 1 to 1/2 tsp cinnamon and that one roll the balls in either cocoa powder with cinnamon mixed or sometimes powdered sugar with cinnamon mixed in it. Third whatever flavored oil I want, peppermint, more vanilla, lemon, whatever appeals to me or to match the season.

First time truffle maker here. Recipe called for rolling the delicious balls of chocolate in unsweetened cocoa. What a mistake! I’ll make them again, but use sweetened cocoa.

I use this exact recipe to make fudge. The only difference is I use half semi sweet chips and half dRk chocolate with a pinch of salt. I have used sea salt before and called it dark chocolate sea salt fudge The sea salt is coarser and doesn’t mix in as easily as regular so you get a tad bit more of the saltines. Everyone loves my fudge because it’s not hard and dry like some are. This time I am going to make a few into truffles and see what I think

So yummy! I just had some suggestions for toppings. We got some Butterfinger® baking bits, chopped them up in a food processor, and rolled the truffles in that. We didn’t try cinnamon, but after we had finished baking my mother gasped and said, “We should’ve used cinnamon!” I hope you find that helpful! 🙂

Love love love these. This is the recipe that my mom has made even before I was born and my family has used for 50 years. We have to make them every year for Christmas without fail. We roll the truffles in three coatings, sweetened coconut, unsweetened cocoa and finely chopped hazelnuts. Our family loves this recipe and so will yours.

Tried this recipe and loved it! I took it to a pot luck at work and everyone had lovely compliments!

These turned out great. I made the recipe exact except I refrigerated them for 3 hours. By the time I took them out they were rock hard! Impossible to roll. But after I let them sit out for 2hrs or so they softend up perfect for me to roll them into tablespoon sized balls. Rolled in powdered sugar and sprinkles. Will definitely make again for Christmas. Only problem I had with these is that they are incredibly sweet. I couldn’t even finish one without being extremely thirsty. Next time I will use this recipe to make fudge instead. Rolling into bite size balls doesn’t seem to work since the richness is overwhelming. Very easy recipe tho!

This was a very easy recipe, and it turned out great! I tweaked it slighty, as I used 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate, 1/2 cup of milk chocolate and 1/2 cup of unsweetened chocolate. I also made a batch with peppermint extract and coated with crushed candy canes. They tasted quite rich and made very cute Christmas gifts!

I agree with Rochele99. Very so-so. I was hoping the eaglebrand would sweeten it more. I decided not to use them for the party.

A so so chocolate ball tastes like fudge so just make some fudge, much easier.
