This is A favorite that we have put on our regular routine. When I don’t have time to peel & cut the apples I have used canned apple pie filling..
My 8 yr old didn’t like the apples, which I don’t understand. My husband liked it all a lot.
I made it exactly as written and it was a huge hit! Will make again for sure!
These were good, though not phenomenal. My 6-year-old liked them, which was big! The recipe didn’t specify whether the pork chops were bone-in, so for those who are wondering, that is intended! I used boneless chops, which were just right after 35 minutes (foil removed for the last 10 minutes). I did microwave the apples a little before topping the pork since the cook time was reduced, and I did have to add some fat since I didn’t get much while searing the meat.
Made it exactly to recipe. Very good. Nice change from boring pork chops
Y favourite meal
It was delicious. Used thinner pork chops-6. Was even better left over. Next time I’ll probably replace the raisins with dried cranberries.
I really liked this recipe. My daughter who claims to hate pork has even asked that I make it again.
Total 5 star recipe!! I used dried cranberries instead of raisins. Only thing I would do diffently is double the sauce. It was so great on the meat and quinoa. Yum! Will make again for sure!
I never liked pork chops before….I like them now! What a great recipe!
didn’t have raisins or sage, so I used Onion Plus and it was delish! Would make this anytime!
Just had this for dinner and it was really good….I substituted bananas for raisins..hubby loved it too and said bookmark that recipe!
I make these about once a month. The raisins and apples compliment each other perfectly. Just be careful not to overcook the pork chops if you get thin sliced chops.
Wonderful recipe. I took reviewer’s advise, sage, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, chicken stock and onions. The pork chops had a beautiful sear and were very juicy. I paired the pork chops with oven roasted sweet potatoes seasoned in garlic, rosemary, olive oil, salt and pepper. My boyfriend and I loved it.
OMG these were delicious! I substituted dried cherries for the raisins and chicken broth for the water, but otherwise stuck to the recipe. Thanks–this one I’ll make again!
Yum yum! This was easy and really good! I will definitely make again.
Did not like the flavor of the gravy type sauce that was poured over the chops. I will not make this again.
This was so wonderful! I used some changes I read from reviews….dried cranberries instead of raisins, cider vinegar and chicken broth instead of the water and white vinegar. I also made it using chicken breasts one time and it was OUTSTANDING!!!!!! Definitely is going to continue to be a seasonal favorite in this house!
I would have given it four stars, but my husband and daughter only gave it three. I think they thought the meat was tough.
Cooked about 45 minutes. I found that although the sauce was quite thick after cooking it became a bit runny from the juice off the apples. Would add a tad more flour next time. Also I used cider vinegar. Very nice change. Will make again
terrific recipe! I always change these recipes I find on this terrific website~I browned pork chops~put them in baking dish~added 1 onion chopped and apples to pan with a pat of butter~ let them go a couple minutes and then added flour~coated onion and apple and cooked about of minute~I then added CHICKEN broth, fresh sage, about a tablespoon of dijon mustard, apricot jam, and honey then added the raisons and poured that mixture over porkchops covered with foil and baked 1/2 hour…YUMMMY!
