Easy Bake Fish

My acquaintance, whose husband like baked potatoes and Buffalo wings, gave me the recipe for this chicken casserole. It was a tremendous hit when I made it for my group of boys for the first time. Being a working single mother with limited time, I shortened the recipe; to my surprise, it tasted even better.

Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 20 mins
Total Time: 35 mins
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  1. 3 tablespoons honey
  2. 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  3. 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  4. 4 (6 ounce) salmon steaks
  5. ½ teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix honey, mustard, and lemon juice. Spread mixture over salmon steaks. Season with pepper. Arrange in a medium baking dish.
  3. Bake 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until fish easily flakes with a fork.

So the marinade was basically honey mustard, and I also had to bake it at 350 degrees at 20 minutes each side. Pretty underwhelming also given that salmon steaks are so bony. A filet would definitely be better.

This is our favorite way to prepare salmon. I add a sprinkling of Panko bread crumbs over the top for some crunch. It’s so simple and delicious!

Doubled the sauce and used mustard w/ horseradish in it, sprinkled with lemon pepper and also regular pepper then cooked at 350 for 25 minutes

Flavor was good , but would have been better with more sauce on it, just barely covered it.

I very often, like most other reviewers in AR, change recipes. This one, however, I made as is and it was great! I might suggest that the thickness of your fillet may dictate time and temp. for baking.

I spread the other ingredients over the salmon, then put everything in a plastic bag. I left this in the fridge for 24 hours then cooked it on the hob. I used my new copper pan. Incidentally I cooked it with the skin on which kept the fish intact, it was FANTASTIC.

This is good, inexpensive, and certainly easy. It is not, however, anywhere nearly as good as other salmon recipes on this site. I would make it again.

Very fast and easy. A bit too sweet. If I make it again, I’ll use maybe 2/3 the honey and broil it for a couple minutes at the end to create a bit of a crust on top.

very good

I did not make any changes and found the recipe perfect. My wife, who generally doesn’t like fish, loved it.

I absolutely love this recipe. I bought fresh, wild caught salmon. Had the other ingredients at home. Served it with fresh vegetables. Absolutely delicious, light, nutritious and simple to make. I will be making this over and over again. YUMMY and EASY! Also, had no problem with the cooking directions. I know every oven is a little different. Mine is a gas oven – baked this at 325 in a glass baking dish uncovered.
