Growing up, I used to love this recipe. I had no idea making it was so simple. Growing up may be enjoyable!

Additional Time: 6 hrs 10 mins
Total Time: 6 hrs 35 mins
Servings: 6
Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

  1. 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle Irish stout beer (such as Guinness®)
  2. 1 onion, diced
  3. ⅓ cup brown sugar
  4. ¼ cup olive oil
  5. ¼ cup red wine vinegar
  6. 3 tablespoons chopped garlic
  7. 2 tablespoons hot pepper sauce (such as Crystal®)
  8. 3 pounds skirt steak, or more to taste

Instructions

  1. Whisk beer, onion, brown sugar, olive oil, red wine vinegar, garlic, and hot sauce together in a large glass or ceramic bowl. Add skirt steak and toss to evenly coat. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, and marinate in the refrigerator, 6 to 24 hours.
  2. Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat, and lightly oil the grate.
  3. Remove skirt from the marinade, and shake off excess. Discard the remaining marinade.
  4. Cook steak on the preheated grill until reddish-pink and juicy in the center, 4 to 5 minutes per side. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 130 degrees F (54 degrees C). Transfer meat to a plate to rest, about 10 minutes.

It was a good meal, I kept the onions and grilled them too.

Nice. A bit too sweet. I’d make it again, but with less sugar. Maybe some soy sauce or steak sauce too? Good though. And I marinated it for 24 hours.
