Mini Strawberry Santas

  4.5 – 24 reviews  • Desserts

Klimp are little dumplings that are put to a stew or soup. Aunt Berta in northern Sweden gave us the recipe and cooks them every time we visit.

Prep Time: 20 mins
Total Time: 20 mins
Servings: 16
Yield: 16 servings

Ingredients

  1. 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled
  2. 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  3. 1 tablespoon confectioners’ sugar
  4. 1 tablespoon chocolate sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Cut the hulled-side strawberries so they can stand up on a plate. Slice the tip off each strawberry to make the ‘hat’; set aside.
  2. Beat cream and confectioners’ sugar in a glass or metal bowl until soft peaks form. Lift your beater or whisk straight up: the whipped cream will form soft mounds.
  3. Spoon a large dollop of whipped cream on top of strawberry base for the ‘face’ and ‘beard’. Set the ‘hat’ atop the ‘face’. Add a dot of whipped cream, using a toothpick, on top of the ‘hat’ for the ‘pom-pom’ and 2 dots on the strawberry base for ‘buttons’. Place 2 sprinkles on the ‘face’ for ‘eyes’.

These are adorable! My 17 year old niece made the with my 3 and 5 year old grandkids and they were loved by all ages and so fun! And yes it is August!

I made these to bring to our Christmas Eve celebration and they were a huge hit. I found directions how to stabilize whipped cream with unflavored gelatin and they held up perfectly. I used dots of store-bought icing gel for the eyes. Adorable, fun to make and a nice change!

Cute, festive, and quick to make

These were a big hit! Refrigerating them after assembling worked wonderfully. I picked out the darkest sprinkles from the jar for eyes 🙂

These were easy to make. I made the stabilized whipped cream. I just followed the instructions and didn’t have any problems. Everyone loved them. I used mini chocolate chips for the eyes.

Quick & easy (mostly) healthy treat for instant smiles. After reading reviews, the 1st time we made these, we added a mini marshmallow in the center of the cream so when it did melt, it still looked fine. The 2nd time, we popped a few at a time of them in the freezer an hr. before serving- worked well, not frozen but firm.

I made these the night before and left them in the fridge. A few of the “hats” slipped off and had to be reset but overall they looked great. They were eaten up before I even got one!

I used the Reddi-wip whipped cream instead of whipping it up from heavy cream. It worked just as well, and my granddaughter helped me with the buttons and eyes. The kids loved them!

Loved it simple enough not to Sweet partially healthy. The only thing that I changed were the sprinkles for the eyes. I used candy balls and put them on with tweezers something else would probably be a better choice a little easier and quicker. Maybe the little balls of candy that look like silver?

The whipped cream started melting as I was assembling, so I gave them out to eat while I was making them. They ate them before I could make more. So they were delicious but not too pretty.

Very cute presentation. They went very fast at a dessert potluck. Had to keep them in the fridge until right before serving as the whipped cream began to get soft. Not too sweet at all. Used tweezers to stick the sprinkle eyeballs on.

Cute, but better eat them quickly. Whipped cream doesn’t stay fluffy for long and you will shortly have strawberries floating In cream.

Was going to give 3.5 stars. Easy enough to do, but make sure strawberries are sweet even to eat. Had a few sour ones. Yuk

If you don’t want to fiddle with these use Cool Whip in a piping bag with a smaller type tip opening. Easier to layer precisely without that “blob” look and the two buttons on front then look ‘perfectly’ shaped.

I used silver balls for the eyes. Will make it again , as it was such a conversation point! Very yummy too

I sweetened up the strawberries with truvia and put them in the fridge first. Turned out really delicious and so, so cute! ????

Nice treat but mine looked more like red bears than miniature Santas. Although mine creation was ugly, they tasted good without getting the little ones all sugared up.

Oh my god ! This is so good ?? I love it

This was a hit on the table as guests came over for Christmas.

This recipe was a disaster. Mine looked like blobs. Was very disappointed. Strawberries were very expensive but I thought my grandkids would like these.
