Homemade French Dressing

My family loves using this dressing on our regular supper salad.

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup white sugar
  2. 1 cup vegetable oil
  3. ½ cup ketchup
  4. ½ cup vinegar
  5. 1 small onion, finely chopped
  6. 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  7. 1 clove garlic

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, oil, ketchup, vinegar, onion, and Worcestershire sauce in a blender; puree until dressing is smooth. Transfer dressing to a resealable container.
  2. Pierce garlic clove with a tooth pick; drop garlic into the dressing. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

I switched out the white sugar for honey and used 3/4 of a cup, it was way too sweet so added in about 1/4 cup more vinegar. It was really good. Next time I will cut the honey to 1/4 cup and see what we think. It is a keeper for sure!

I loved this recipe. I added a little horseradish to it, which balanced the sweetness perfectly.

I used Truvia instead of sugar to reduce calories, and I put the garlic in the blender along with all of the other ingredients (I like garlic!). Nice recipe, good consistency, with just the right amount of tang.
