Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken Sandwiches

These homemade marshmallows taste great. You can mix a few drops of food coloring with the vanilla if you’d like.

Total Time: 8 hrs 15 mins
Servings: 6
Yield: 6 sandwiches

Ingredients

  1. 4 large bone-in chicken breast halves, skin removed, trimmed of fat
  2. 1 (18 ounce) bottle barbeque sauce
  3. 1 ½ (16 ounce) packages (4-pack) whole wheat hamburger buns, split

Instructions

  1. Place chicken in a slow cooker and pour barbecue sauce over top.
  2. Cover and cook on Low until chicken is tender and can easily be pulled apart with a fork.
  3. Remove chicken breasts from the slow cooker. Separate meat and bones; discard bones. Shred chicken with a fork.
  4. Place chicken on buns with some extra sauce from the slow cooker.
  5. Williamson Bros® Bar-B-Q sauce is my favorite. If you want a spicier BBQ, add a little cayenne to give it a kick.
  6. For the folks that don’t like wheat bread, try these with potato buns or even plain white Sunbeam® bread is delicious.
