Easy, Excellent Baked Flounder

  4.6 – 21 reviews

This recipe is fantastic for a night when you’re feeling lazy because it only requires a few ingredients, requires no chopping, is simple to clean up after, and is delicious. The fish was described as “excellent” by my spouse, who doesn’t frequently extol the virtues of food.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 25 mins
Total Time: 35 mins
Servings: 4
Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  1. cooking spray
  2. 4 flounder fillets
  3. salt and ground black pepper to taste
  4. ¼ cup butter, melted
  5. 3 tablespoons white wine
  6. 3 tablespoons seasoned bread crumbs
  7. 1 pinch paprika, or to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and coat with cooking spray.
  2. Rinse flounder fillets, pat dry, and place on the baking sheet. Season with salt and pepper. Whisk butter and wine together in a bowl; pour over flounder. Sprinkle each fillet with bread crumbs and then paprika.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until flounder flakes easily with a fork, 25 to 30 minutes.
  4. I used individually frozen fillets from BJ’s. The recipe would probably work fine with tilapia, too.

Ended up delicious and easy to make. Only need to know if you leave it in longer does the breadcrumbs get crunchier. Definitely making again.

I’ve made this twice, and everyone loved it. Except me, because I don’t like fish. It is so easy, it’s my favorite recipe to cook, especially when I’m tired at the end of the day.

Simple, basic, easy way to cook fish. It came out just right at 30 minutes. I used lemon pepper seasoning in place of salt and pepper, and that gave it some added flavor. I cut back on the butter by 1 tablespoon. I only had plain breadcrumbs, so I sprinkled on some Italian seasoning.

was very good, not dry at all. My husband and live in baby sitter both liked it. My 4 year old would not eat it but that’s because he won’t try anything new, lately. It is a tiny bit bland, so if you like a little kick, you may need to add more spices. I liked it as is (with just the Italian bread crumbs, salt pepper and splash of paprika).

I used more Breadcrumbs and added some Parmesan Cheese

Made this for my husband , who swears he does not like fish, he thought it was great and a keeper. May try putting parmesan cheese in the bread crumbs next time.

I added a little finely chopped garlic in the sauce and finely chopped cilantro but that’s just the way I roll! Delicious and so easy to make!

Didn’t have white wine, so spread on some mayo before topping with panko bread crumbs. YUM. Will do it again.

pretty bland. I only had plain breadcrumbs, but added Italian Seasoning to them but still not much flavor. Won’t make again.
