This is a great recipe. The sauce is very sweet. We are going to double the meat next time, as well as the sauce, and reduce the sugar. We thought more sesame seeds would be great, but that’s us. I highly recommend if you love sesame beef.
Love this.
Quick and tasty. If you have boys, I’d double the amounts. Suggest also adding the sesame seeds directly to your portion, not the pan. Given the “quality” of the beef used in most restaurants that serve this, decent, lean meat is so much better, but a little disconcerting from the usual chewy fatty style. I marinated overnight, 24 hours. It soaks it up, go a little heavy.
Straightforward and just delicious for a working mom to cook quickly for my husband and kids.
I only marinated about 40 minutes. Found the round steak tough and thought the sauce was nothing special. Sorry folks. I don’t know why so many thought it fabulous.
Omg so amazing , My family love it
So easy and delicious.Love it
This was absolutely yummy. I will definitely make again.
It’s pretty good. I made rice along with it. The beef is really good and moist, filled with flavor. Though mixing with rice it is missing something, I added extra soy sauce but still missing something. Highly recommended by its self!
Great! I did add another 1/4 cup soy sauce for more marinade (& used it for glaze afterward w/ a bit of cornstarch.)
Made it. Thinking about trying it with teriyaki sauce instead of soy sauce next time. Great recipe!
Realy good.
Delish!!! Double the recipe for leftovers!!
This was a great recipe!!
I followed the measurements as the recipe required, but also made a few personal tweaks. 1st I added 1/2tsp of sesame oil to the marinade. 2nd Before sautéing the beef, I sautéed some sliced mushrooms and thinly sliced carrots & frozen broccoli, then added the beef. I found the addition of sesame oil was a great addition to the sweetness of the marinade. Served over brown rice. Viola!!
Doubled the marinade. Grilled the beef. Made sauce with a little beef broth & corn starch & grated ginger. Everyone liked it & thought it was better than take out.
Add a tbsp or so of rice wine vinegar to the marinade for a bit of acid to cut oiliness. I often use sliced sirloin tips for the steak…nice and tender when cut across the grain.
I loved this the only thing I did different is I took away 1 Tlb. spoon oil and added 1 Tlb. spoon sesame seed oil. And I used one pound beef. And one and half of the sauce.
Good quality butcher beef. This is the most bland recipe I’ve ever made.
I made this in the instant pot. Used the sear function for searing the onion and meat. I dumped everything in on top of the meat & onions. I added the gravy mix, but not the extra water for the mix. Phenomenal. Going in to the rotation.
Oh my god, it’s delicous.
